Arizona Citizens for the Arts Joins 3-Year Initiative to Advance State Arts Education Policy

Arizona is among ten states selected to join Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and arts education, to administer a three-year pilot program to expand policy support for local arts education and access to arts program and instruction in Arizona schools.

National YoungArts Foundation to Honor Andrew Rannells, Rita Moreno & Zaha Hadid at Performance & Gala

On Saturday, January 11, 2014 the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) will host the organization's first Backyard Ball Performance and Gala to be held at the YoungArts Campus (2100 Biscayne Boulevard). The 2014 Arison Award Honorees are Pritzker Award Winning architect Zaha Hadid and Academy Award Winning singer, dancer, and actress, Rita Moreno. This year's Alumni Honoree is actor, singer and 1997 YoungArts Winner in Theater, Andrew Rannells. The celebratory evening of artistic immersion will bring together prominent artists, community leaders, philanthropists and celebrities to recognize the 2014 YoungArts Winners. The gala is YoungArts' largest annual fundraiser and the culmination of YoungArts' signature program YoungArts Week which provides 171 of the nation's most outstanding young artists in the literary, performing, visual and design arts with life-changing experiences, including master classes, workshops, inter-disciplinary activities, performances and exhibitions.

The Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts Announce Poster Design Winners

WASHINGTON, June 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ The national winners of The Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts Poster Design Competition 2013 are traveling to Washington, D.C., to accept their scholarship awards at a Congressional Reception on Capitol Hill. Whitney Lanier of Statesboro, GA, is the grand prize winner in the high school senior category of the competition. She wins a full tuition scholarship to The Art Institute of Atlanta. Morgan Stevens of Athens, IL, was selected the grand prize winner in the high school graduate category. She wins a $10,000 tuition scholarship to The Art Institute of St. Louis.

'You Can Create Tomorrow' in the 10th Annual Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts Poster Design Competition

High school seniors and high school graduates are putting their talents and creativity to the test in The Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts Poster Design Competition. Entries into this year's Competition will be accepted through January 31, 2013. High school seniors could earn up to a full tuition scholarship and a high school graduate could earn a $10,000 scholarship to study at one of the more than 50 Art Institutes schools.

BSO VP of Education Carol Bogash Appointed to Americans for the Arts Advisory Council

Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading non-profit for advancing the arts, has recognized Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) Vice President of Education and Community Engagement Carol Bogash's achievement as a leader in the field of arts education and appointed her to Americans for the Arts Advisory Council. Ms. Bogash was elected onto the council by popular vote from other Americans for the Arts members. She will serve a term of three years.

Time Warner Cable Will No Longer Carry Ovation

Ovation, the only cable television network exclusively devoted to the arts, announced today it has been informed by Time Warner Cable that the cable distributor intends to drop the network when its current contract expires at midnight on December 31st, 2012. Such an action by Time Warner Cable would negatively impact millions of Time Warner Cable customers who will no longer have access to Ovation's unique arts programming.

Americans for the Arts and Kris Wine Award $25,000 in Grants to U.S. K-12 Arts Programs

In partnership with Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and arts education, KRIS wine has awarded $25,000 to 16 K-12 schools nationwide to support quality arts education programs. Consumers determined the grant winners last fall by voting for their favorite K- 12 public school on KRIS Wine's Facebook page. Funds from KRIS, one of America's fastest growing Italian wines, couldn't come at a more crucial time as budget cuts threaten arts education programs across the country.

YoungArts, the core program of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts is proud to welcome several world-renowned artists to Miami January 9-14, 2012, to serve as Master Teachers for YoungArts Week. Every year YoungArts selects approximately 150 of the nation's most talented 17-18 year old artists to travel to Miami for YoungArts Week, an all-expense paid weeklong gathering that includes master classes, workshops, readings, and exhibitions and performances that are open to the public. This year's class of students will have the exclusive experience of participating in master classes with Robert Redford, Bill T. Jones, Jacques d'Amboise, Jon Secada, Malcolm Gets and Debi Mazar.
