The Joffrey Ballet has announced the launch of a new Joffrey Conservatory Program within the Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, beginning September 2017.

The 26th annual Dance for Life Chicago will exemplify Chicago's versatile and virtuoso dance community with the eight companies that are performing August 19 at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University. Chicago Dancers United (CDU), which mobilizes Chicago's dance community by raising funds through dance, presents this annual benefit performance, which is preceded by a gala reception at the Hilton Chicago.

For its annual spring engagement, The Joffrey Ballet presents Global Visionaries, a program of three contemporary works by internationally renowned artists including the World Premiere of Episode 47 by Swedish choreographer Alexander Ekman, the Chicago Premiere of The Miraculous Mandarin by San Francisco Ballet Resident Choreographer Yuri Possokhov, created specifically for The Joffrey Ballet and The Cleveland Orchestra, plus the return of Mammatus by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa. Global Visionaries is presented in 10 performances only, April 26-May 7, 2017.

The Joffrey Ballet is back on the boards in NYC for the first time since the company decamped to Chicago in 1995. At Lincoln Center's Koch Theater from March 29th to April 2nd 2017, the troupe founded by Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino in 1956 and now under the artistic direction of Ashley Wheater offers a new version of “Romeo & Juliet” choreographed by Krzysztof Pastor, as well as a one-evening Gala on March 31st.

New York Theatre Ballet's presentation on February 25, 2017, was a dedication of sorts to Antony Tudor and Martha Clarke. If the evening was less than memorable due to the thinness of the material, it did offer glimpses into the minds of two creative artists who have tried, and often succeeded, in pushing the boundaries of pure dance into a psychological state.

Ashley Wheater, Artistic Director of The Joffrey Ballet, proudly announces an impressive 2017-18 season including a world premiere by Joffrey Ballet Master Nicolas Blanc, the North American Premiere of Midsummer Night's Dream by acclaimed chorographer Alexander Ekman plus Chicago Premieres by George Balanchine, Lola de Ávila and Jerome Robbins. 

For its annual winter engagement, The Joffrey Ballet presents Game Changers, a program of three contemporary ballets including the Chicago Premiere of Year of the Rabbit by New York City Ballet resident choreographer Justin Peck.

New York Theatre Ballet (NYTB) brings its highly acclaimed Legends & Visionaries series to the 92Y Harkness Dance Festival from February 24-25, 2017 at the The 92Y, located at 1395 Lexington Avenue, NYC 10128.

 Colorado Ballet has won the 10th Annual Goldstar National Nutcracker Award, the only Award which honors live performances of the seasonal classic. As winner of the audience-favorite competition, Colorado Ballet takes home 'The Nutty' statuette, a cash prize for its education programs, and is named the best-loved Nutcracker in the U.S.

The Joffrey Ballet is pleased to announce a major leadership reorganization for the Joffrey Academy of Dance featuring a new team comprised of respected dance industry veteran Raymond Rodriguez as Head of Studio Company and Trainee Program, effective late October, and Joffrey Ballet's Karin Ellis-Wentz as Head of Pre-Professional Programs, effective immediately. Both of these newly created director-level positions will report to Karine Provost, who will serve in a newly elevated role as Academy Director.
