Hear the Dance:Russia, covered forty years of Balanchine accompanied by Stravinsky's music from his Apollo, created in 1928 for Diaghilev's Ballet Russes, to 1957's Agon, to two works from 1972, Duo Concertant and Symphony in Three Movements. In Balanchine's temple on Lincoln Center's campus, his choreography plagued the dancers with drops, trips, and slips.

Broadway legend Joel Grey (CABARET, WICKED) and Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein (FINDING NEVERLAND) will be the honorees at this year's Fred and Adele Astaire Awards. The gala evening celebrates the 2015 season's outstanding dance and choreography on Broadway and film. The event will take place on June 1, 2015 at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

On April 27th, Words On Dance and Symphony Space presented Ballet to Broadway: Christopher Wheeldon with Rita Moreno, at the Peter J. Sharp Theater, just two weeks after the opening of Wheeldon's An American in Paris, on Broadway. The evening consisted of film clips interspersed with conversation. Oddly, it was the films we saw 1st, followed by words. It was Moreno who was to interview Wheeldon, although he occasionally turned the tables and asked questions of Moreno.
New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) announced today that internationally acclaimed theatre designer and six-time Tony Award Winner Bob Crowley will be honored at the NYTW 2015 Spring Gala on Monday, May 11, 2015. The event, which will be held at the Edison Ballroom (240 W 47th St.) will be chaired by Disney Theatrical Production President Thomas Schumacher, Sherie Rene Scott, Jack O'Brien, and John Barrett.
The 5th Annual Dance Against Cancer was held on Monday, April 27, 2015. The event had over 500 guests attend and raised more than $243,000 for the American Cancer Society that will benefit research initiatives and patient and family service programs.
