Led by Robert Battle in his inaugural season as Artistic Director, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will return to the Sony Centre For The Performing Arts stage, February 2-4, 2012 for four performances that will showcase the brilliant artistry and passionate spirit of Ailey's extraordinary dancers in a series of new works and new productions that extend the vital legacy of Alvin Ailey (1931-1989) in exciting new directions.

Following last year's sold-out inaugural season, Dance Under the Influence returns with a schedule packed with groundbreaking newcomers and icons of contemporary dance.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's five-week New York season will begin on November 30th with a star-studded gala benefit at New York City Center that marks an exciting new era led by Artistic Director Robert Battle. Honorary Chairs for the special evening are First Lady Michelle Obama and the legendary model Iman.

Living up to its name as an 'American Cultural Ambassador to the World,' Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater was warmly and wildly greeted by audiences in packed houses and with standing ovations this summer on a ten-week international tour that marked the historic passing of the Artistic Director mantle to Robert Battle.

The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) is proud to announce that the 29th Annual Princess Grace Awards Gala will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. Ailey II returns to Columbus with an exhilarating and diverse repertoire that includes Alvin Ailey's timeless classics as well as new works by both dance veterans and celebrated emerging choreographers. The evening's program (subject to change) will include Boulevard (Mina Yoo, 2006), Splendid Isolation II (Jessica Lang, 2006), The Hunt (Robert Battle, 2001), and Revelations (Alvin Ailey, 1960).

Building on the success of last season's unprecedented world tour to over 45 cities, including performances in France, Germany and the UK, Ailey II is embarking on a 32-city tour including over 20 domestic cities and international stops in Bermuda, Germany and for the first time ever, Greece.
