Keir Dullea will make his long-awaited return to the stage in Robert Anderson's I Never Sang for My Father, presented by the Keen Company in association with Wiltsie Bridge Productions, at Theatre Row from March 23 - May 1. Directed by Jonathan Silverstein, I Never Sang for My Father marks the second Anderson play presented by Keen, following the success of its 2007 critically acclaimed production of Tea & Sympathy.

Five years after receiving a Drama Desk nomination for Best Revival of a Play for their production of Pullman Car Hiawatha, two short plays by Thornton Wilder, Keen Company (Artistic Director Carl Forsman, Executive Director Wayne Kelton) kicks of their tenth anniversary season with the New York professional premiere of Such Things Only Happen in Books, an evening of short plays by Thornton Wilder directed by Carl Forsman and Jonathan Silverstein.

As part of its new season, AlterTheater Ensemble, an artist-driven company known for performing deeply intimate theater in downtown San Rafael storefronts, will produce its first play developed entirely from within, and starring Anne Darragh, Will Marchetti, Frances Lee McCain, and Michael Ray Wisely. This is also the first play the company is producing under an Equity contract.

NEW DRAMATISTS, Tony Honor recipient and the nation's premiere playwright development workshop, honored the late Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Horton Foote with their 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 60th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute, on Tuesday, May 19th at the New York Marriott Marquis (1535 Broadway, between 45th and 46th Streets). The musical version has music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin, with book by Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy. Ryan Weible directs the Willows Theatre production, with choreography by Gia Solari-Welch, and music direction by Tim Hanson. Ryan Drummond stars as the wedding singer, Robbie Hart, with Sarah Aili as his gal Julia. The Willows production runs May 11 ? June 14 at the Willows mainstage, 1975 Diamond Boulevard in Concord.

MAN underdog presents 'The Temperamentals' by Jon Marans, Off Broadway at The Barrow Group Studio Theater, 312 West 36 Street 3rd Floor. Previews begin on Thursday, April 30, 2009 and the opening is Monday, May 4 at 8:00 pm for the limited engagement. It is directed by Jonathan Silverstein. The cast and design team will soon be announced. 'Temperamental' was a code word for 'homosexual' in the early 1950s, part of a created language of secret words that gay men used to communicate. In this underground world, danger was always an underlying presence. But with it, a heady, intoxicating secrecy also hung in the air.
