Pilobolus Comes to The Alden in McLean, 4/17

Award-winning, internationally recognized Pilobolus Dance Company will perform innovative, energetic and gravity-defying works at The Alden in McLean in April. The single performance will be at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 17.

Vital Theatre's PINKALICIOUS Coming to The Alden, 2/14

Vital Theatre's "Pinkalicious," a musical adaptation of the book by Victoria and Elizabeth Kann, will come to The Alden in McLean for a single performance at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14. Tickets are $20 for the general public and $15 for McLean tax district residents. The Alden is located inside the McLean Community Center, which is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

John Eaton Explores the Music of Jerome Kern at The Alden in McLean Today

Jazz pianist, musicologist and humorist John Eaton will return to The Alden at the McLean Community Center this fall with his popular program, 'Jazz Masters with John Eaton.' Eaton will present 'The Master: The Glorious Songs of Jerome Kern' at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 4. Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 for MCC tax district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

Andrew Young Will be Featured Speaker at MLK Day Celebration in McLean, 1/17

In observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, The Alden at the McLean Community Center is proud to present Ambassador Andrew Young: "A Continuing Legacy," at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17. Young, whose efforts have served and shaped the country for more than 50 years, will share personal memories of Dr. King and his years in the Civil Rights movement. This year, The Alden in McLean is celebrating Halloween with the screening of two scary movies, something old and something relatively new. The celebration begins at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Oct. 30, with the 1920 classic film 'The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.' Tickets are $10, $6 for MCC district residents. On Saturday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m., the theatre will show 2011's 'Tucker and Dale vs. Evil.' Admission is free. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

The Alden Presents Indian Classical Musician Ustad Shafaat Khan Tonight

The Alden in McLean presents its first musical performance of the 2013-2014 season tonight, Oct. 19, at 8 p.m. with a rare performance by Indian classical/folk musician Ustad Shafaat Khan, the first known artist to attain simultaneous excellence in performing the sitar, surbahar and tabla. Khan will be joined by his brother Ustad Wajahat Khan, a master of the sarod (a lute-like stringed instrument).
