RILEY CARTER MILLINGTON, Best Known for Eastenders, Heads the Cast of SAFE

SAFE is a powerful new verbatim theatre piece featuring Riley Carter Millington, who was, as Kyle Slater in EastEnders, the first transgender actor to play a long-running trans role in a British soap. SAFE will be London Theatre Workshop's first show in its new home in Leadenhall Market.

Theatre Royal Stratford East Sets New Season

Artistic Director of Theatre Royal Stratford East, Kerry Michael today announces the theatre's forthcoming season launching this September. The season opens with Counting Stars by award-winning playwright Atiha Sen Gupta which will transform the stage into a studio format nightclub installation for this funny yet heart-breaking tale directed by Associate Director at Stratford East, Pooja Ghai.

Theatre Royal Stratford East Launches its new 80 Seat Theatre Space in Gerry's opposite, with a multi-award winning Edinburgh hit, examining how we use words, the line between curiosity and fear, and the rise of anti-immigration rhetoric. Having already piloted the space in 2015 with Lynette Linton's Chicken Palace, Alexis Gregory's Slap directed by Rikki Beadle-Blair and Femi Elufowoju workshop production of The Secret Lives of Baba Segi's Wives (sell-out shows), 2016 sees Theatre Royal Stratford East put new voices and bold new shows on a brand new stage. LABELS runs 5 - 30 April, press night on Thursday 7 April, 8pm.

Charlie Clements Leads FAITH's First London Revival, Now thru June 16

Multi award-winning former EastEnders actor Charlie Clements leads the cast in the first major London revival of Meredith Oakes' FAITH since its Royal Court premiere in 1997, marking the 30th anniversary of the Falklands War. Directed by Drew Baker, the show will get a 4-week season at The Courtyard Theatre Tuesdays-Sundays at 7:30pm from tonight, 23 May to Saturday 16 June.

In 1930s Berlin - an intriguing city of jazz and underground cabaret overpowered by the rise of Hitler and World War II - the daughter of a Jewish family falls in love with their black shabbes goy (a term used for those who assist Jews on the Sabbath with tasks forbidden to Jews within Jewish law). Fast-forward to the tale of a mixed-race couple in seemingly unprejudiced modern-day Brooklyn, where the same family is coping with a number of calamities. Shalom Baby is a touching and very funny exploration of love, family and friendship.
