Theater and film meet when the LGBT dystopian tale 'Hiding in Daylight' starts filming in September in New York State. Playwright Gregory G. Allen wrote the story as both a one act play and a screenplay. After filmmaker Cheryl Allison read the script, she knew she wanted to make the film. Casting has been announced with Gerald McCullouch, Judy McLane, Julee Cerda, and Gary Hilborn starring in the ensemble piece. Allison's film company WOW Films and Allen's company ASD Media & Entertainment have co-produced the upcoming short with producer Carina Rush and Allison will direct. It will hit the festival circuit in 2019.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center will honor Grammy winner, philanthropist, and writer Ricky Martin; producer, writer, director Greg Berlanti and his husband producer Robbie Rogers; and philanthropist Ariadne Getty at its 49th Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards. One of the nation's premier LGBT charity events, the Center's Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards brings together more than 1,200 of the region's most important leaders and influencers in the civic, corporate, entertainment, and philanthropic communities to celebrate this year's inspirational honorees for their unwavering support of the LGBT community and their dedication to creating positive change in the world.

Ryan Murphy has taken to Twitter to announce that Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and Stevie Nicks will be returning for American Horror Story: Apocalypse. This news comes not long after it was announced that Jessica Lange would also be returning to reprise her Murder House character, Constance Langdon.

Earlier today, American Horror Story shared a trailer for its latest installment, Apocalypse. The trailer comes not long after it was confirmed that Jessica Lange will return to the series in Apocalypse, in an episode that Sarah Paulson will direct.

Producer Michael Barra, who most recently served as President of Media & Entertainment at Broadway's The Araca Group (and was previously an exec at Disney), announces the official launch of Lively McCabe Entertainment. Co-founded with Katie Dietz, Lively McCabe Entertainment is an independent production company that will allow Barra to continue as a packager and producer of media intellectual properties for the live stage, as well as television series, films, digital media, and book publishing. Lively McCabe has now signed with Abrams Artists Agency, and will work closely with their Literary departments in Los Angeles and New York to package projects built around existing high profile Hollywood IP to which the company has secured rights. Lively McCabe and Mr. Barra are also represented by Adam Cooper at Jackoway Tyerman.

The acclaimed male vocal group The Flyboys will make their Edinburgh Fringe debut this year when they perform their fusion act of vintage and modern music in four part harmony nightly at the Gilded Balloon's Rose Theatre (Main Theatre) from August 1 to August 24 at 10.30pm. The Flyboys brand of swing re-imagined has been described as "if Sinatra formed a band with Bruno Mars" or "a night where Pharrell Williams croons with Judy Garland, Ricky Martin scats with Cab Calloway and Maroon 5 groove with Ella Fitzgerald."

Today, the American Horror Story social media accounts shared a new image revealing the highly-anticipated theme for the eighth season. The upcoming season has been confirmed to be a crossover between Murder House (season 1) and Coven (season 3). Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, and newcomer Joan Collins are all set to star in the upcoming season. American Authors and Brandon Victor Dixon join the incredible slate of performers for NBC's annual "Macy's 4th of JulyFireworks® Spectacular," which airs Wednesday, July 4 (8-10 p.m. ET/PT) with an hourlong encore presentation at 10 p.m. Dixon will be joined by the iconic Harlem Gospel Choir for a rendition of the patriotic "America the Beautiful."

BlackRock Center for the Arts has officially announced their annual Summer Concert Series line up on their outdoor stage. Shows are free and will be held for five consecutive Saturdays at 7 pm beginning June 30. New this summer: a variety of food trucks, and an exclusive Beer and Wine Garden for guests over 21. Family-friendly activities such as face painting, henna art, and caricature portraits will take place during the Family Fun Festival on July 28 starting at 5 pm and will include performances and workshops for kids by Culkin School of Irish Dance and an opening act by MacMillan Pipe Band. BlackRock's Concert Series celebrates Montgomery County's diverse population with an array of music including Irish Rock, Reggae, Salsa and Soul. The summer concert series showcases a distinctly diverse array of musical offerings that Blackrock Center for the Arts will present throughout the year. All Summer Concerts will be performed on the BlackRock front lawn, weather permitting - picnic blankets and low-back chairs will be allowed.
