Profiles Theatre opens its 2011-2012 Season with the Midwest premiere of A Behanding in Spokane by Martin McDonagh, directed by Steppenwolf ensemble member Rick Snyder, featuring Profiles ensemble members Eric Burgher and Darrell W. Cox with guest artists Sara Greenfield and Levenix Riddle.

Goodman's GOD OF CARNAGE Extends Through 4/17

Goodman Theatre extends Yasmina Reza's laugh-out-loud, triple-Tony-Award winning God of Carnage, directed by Rick Snyder, for five additional performances. The 'savagely entertaining' (Variety) God of Carnage now closes April 17 with its ensemble cast of four intact.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Profiles Theatre will presents the Chicago premiere of A BEHANDING IN SPOKANE. The show, which will open in September, will be directed by Rick Snyder. Also a part of Profiles' 2011-12 season are Neil LaBute's THE BREAK OF NOON, BACHELORETTE, and ASSISTED LIVING.

Goodman's GOD OF CARNAGE Extends Through 4/17

Goodman Theatre extends Yasmina Reza's laugh-out-loud, triple-Tony-Award winning God of Carnage, directed by Rick Snyder, for five additional performances. The 'savagely entertaining' (Variety) God of Carnage now runs through April 17 with its ensemble cast of four intact. When Alan (David Pasquesi) and Annette (Beth Lacke)'s son hits Michael (Keith Kupferer) and Veronica (Mary Beth Fisher)'s son with a stick, the two couples meet to discuss the problem over clafouti and coffee. What starts as a civilized get-together quickly devolves into a riotous evening that The New Yorker calls 'ninety minutes of sustained mayhem.' God of Carnage earned critical acclaim in London and on Broadway earning the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy and three Tony Awards, including Best Play. Stage and screen vet Jeff Daniels spoke at a Michigan film industry town hall meeting in Livonia, MI yesterday, February 24, 2011. Daniels, a Michigan native, urged a crowd of about 3000 to contact their representatives and the state legislature to plead to keep Michigan's generous film tax incentives in place. Michigan Governor Rick Snyder is proposing to replace the film tax incentive program with a 5 million cap on future film credits, which Daniels and other film executives believe would virtually put an end to the booming Michigan film industry.

Victory Gardens Closes THE BOYS ROOM, 2/20

Victory Gardens continues its 2010/11 Season with the world premiere of The Boys Room by Ensemble Playwright Joel Drake Johnson, directed by Associate Artistic Director Sandy Shinner. The Boys Room marks Shinner and Johnson's sixth collaboration-A Guide For The Perplexed, Four Places, The End of the Tour, Before My Eyes, all at Victory Gardens, and Tranquillity Woods for Steppenwolf's First Look series. The production runs January 21 - February 20, 2011 at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park. The Press Opening is Monday, January 31, 2011, at 7:30 pm.
