The JERSEY BOYS film, adapted by John Logan, is moving forward full speed ahead. Movie Hole today revealed the casting notice, which confirms that IRON MAN director Jon Favreau will helm the adaptation.

The national tour of The Addams Family, a new musical based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, will make its Pennsylvania premiere in Pittsburgh tonight, July 31 and play through Sunday, August 12, 2012, at the Benedum Center as part of the Pittsburgh CLO summer season and PNC Broadway Across America-Pittsburgh 2011-12 series.

Cast members of Peter and the Starcatcher, including Celia Keenan-Bolger, Matthew Saldivar, Adam Chanler-Berat, Carson Elrod, Matt D'Amico, John Sanders, Betsy Hogg and Orville Mendoza today headed Off-Broadway to see SkippyJon Jones, the new children's musical written by their co-star, Kevin Del Aguila (Smee). Jeremy Kushnier will step into the role of Tommy DeVito in the Broadway cast of JERSEY BOYS, the Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award-winning smash hit musical, at the August Wilson Theatre on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. Andy Karl, who currently plays Tommy DeVito, will play his final performance on Sunday, October 7, 2012.

Christian Borle, who won a 2012 Tony Award for his role as 'Black Stache' in PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, departed his role for the filming of season two of NBC's SMASH last week. Taking over the role is Matthew Saldivar, who has been seen on Broadway as Steve in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, Sammy in THE WEDDING SINGER and Kenickie in GREASE. JERSEY BOYS previously confirmed with aussietheatre.com.au that they would be transferring to the Lyric Theatre, QPAC, Brisbane from tonight, July 13 after their New Zealand season.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, director Jon Favreau is among the top contenders to direct the JERSEY BOYS film, which is being adapted by RED playwright John Logan. Today, Deadline.com reports that Favreau has begun negotiations to close the deal.

Yesterday, July 11, Peter and the Starcatcher, the five-time Tony® Award-winning play written by Rick Elice and directed by Roger Rees and Alex Timbers, celebrated its 100th performance at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. In honor of the occasion, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg has officially proclaimed July 11, 2012 as "Peter and the Starcatcher Day" in New York City.
