Dixie's Tupperware Party, the hilarious show starring Dixie Longate which turned Off-Broadway into Tupperware-mania and garnered the prestigious 2008 Drama Desk Award Nomination returns to the Marcus Center's Wilson Theater at Vogel Hall for a strictly limited engagement of four performances beginning on May 12. Written by Kris Andersson, the production is playing Milwaukee as part of a tour that has, so far, logged over 1000 performances worldwide.

'I AND YOU' is now being performed at 59E59 Theaters through February 28th. Written by Lauren Gunderson and directed by Sean Daniels, the show is excellent and poignant.

The hit Broadway comedy An Act of God starring Emmy Award winner Sean Hayes begins performances tonight, Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Center Theatre Group / Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. The limited six-week engagement officially opens on Wednesday, February 10 and continues through Sunday, March 13.

59E59 Theaters welcomes playwright Lauren Gunderson (Bauer) back to the 5A Season with NY premiere of her award-winning play I AND YOU, directed by Sean Daniels, and produced by Merrimack Repertory Theatre in association with Richard Winkler. I AND YOU opens tonight, January 27, for a limited engagement through Sunday, February 28. 

Sacha Wares will be returning to Almeida Theatre to direct the world premiere of Leo Butler's new play Boy, after her directorial success with the critically acclaimed production, Game, by Mike Bartlett, in 2015.  Boy will run at the Almeida Theatre from 5 April until 28 May 2016, with press night on 12 April 2016. Director Sacha Wares is joined by a formidable creative team, including two powerhouse contemporary designers, Miriam Buether for set design (Wild Swans, Sucker Punch, My Child, Generations), who worked with Sacha on Game at the Almeida in 2015, and Ultz for costume (Jerusalem, Hobson's Choice, Fallout, Pied Pier), who will be collaborating with Miriam, on design, for the very first time. Further creative credits include movement by Leon Baugh, lighting by Jack Knowles and sound by Gareth Fry.

'I and You' by Lauren Gunderson tells the story of two very different teenagers, Caroline and Anthony, who struggle to connect as they work on a school project about Walt Whitman's poetry. Over the course of the play and through a stunning surprise ending, they find that there is more that unites them than divides them. This production marks the New England premiere of the play that won the 2014 Steinberg/American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award, which recognizes new work produced outside of New York.

The play takes place in Octavia's Diner, a cozy, family-owned soul food restaurant in the middle of a black neighborhood in the Midwest. Zora, the business mind of the diner, receives the offer of a lifetime - a chance to write a book about the legendary sci-fi author Octavia Butler. She'd have to move half way across the country to work on it, but her father wants her to stay and run the diner. She's torn between family duty and her dream.

Written by Kris Andersson, the production is playing at the Scott Recital Hall in the Holland Performing Arts Center as part of its sixth smash season on national tour. Omaha Performing Arts presents the theatrical comedy May 28-30. Performances are Today, May 28, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, May 29, at 8 p.m.; and Saturday, May 30, at 2 and 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 the day of the show, and are available at TicketOmaha.com, 402.345.0606 or at the Ticket Omaha Office inside the Holland Center, 1200 Douglas St. This production contains adult content.

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) will present its sixteenth annual All-City Musical, MEMPHIS to crown the District's 2014-15 series of All-City Arts Programming. The production features the talents of nearly fifty CMSD students from across the District and will take place on the stage of the Ohio Theatre at Playhouse Square, this weekend, May 22 - 24, 2015. Tony Sias, Director of Arts Education / Cleveland School of the Arts Artistic Director for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, co-directs the production with the CMSD All-City Arts Program's Managing Director, Kimberly Brown.

Jamie deRoy came to Jim Caruso's Broadway at Birdland last night and Broadwayworld was there. In the world of show business everyone is always everyones friend. After 25 years of having enormously talented friends perform on her stages and loyal friends fill the seats at her shows, the consistency of participation points to the fact that most are real friends. Jamie's friends stick together. The hugs are real, the laughter is genuine, and the happy feeling everyone has after an episode of Jamie deRoy & friends always seems to linger in the air for many days after the show is over.  Such was the case of her latest entry in the series which always at this time of year features everything "TONY".
