The Guthrie Theater and The Acting Company (TAC) today announced complete casting for their 2010 co-production and national tour of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Building on the success of their critically acclaimed 2009 production of Henry V, these two nationally recognized theater institutions will again showcase the talents of young performers from their ranks, including graduates of the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program, participants of the Guthrie Experience (GEx), and alumni of The Acting Company.

An all-star ensemble of performers will dance their way across the Ordway stage in a new production of 'Singin' in the Rain,' opening June 16 on the Ordway main stage. The production features some of the region's brightest talent including Michael Gruber as Don Lockwood, Christina Saffran Ashford as Kathy Selden, Tony Vierling as Cosmo, Austene Van as Lina Lamont, Richard Ooms as R.F. Simpson, and Claudia Wilkens as Dora Bailey.

Her husband, Willie, appears from time to time and replies only occasionally to her cheerful chatter, a source of comfort as she remains ever hopeful that 'this is going to be a happy day.' With its vivid sense of the bizarre and a blend of humor and compassion, Happy Days represents one of the Nobel Prize-winning writer's finest works. The play is minimalist, concentrated to the bare elements needed to make Winnie's resilience apparent in the stream of her thoughts and emotions, allowing the Irish playwright, poet and novelist an opportunity to offer a penetrating and uncompromising exploration of the human condition. As is the case with all of Beckett's work for the stage, Happy Days is an utterly spare and precise play, with every detail carrying the exact weight and degree of importance determined by the author. Guthrie Director Joe Dowling and The Acting Company's Producing Artistic Director Margot Harley today announced casting for the co-production and national tour of William Shakespeare's Henry V, directed by Davis McCallum.

Adapted by Barbara Field and again under the direction of Gary Gisselman, A Christmas Carol will feature actor Raye Birk, who returns to play Ebenezer Scrooge for the fourth consecutive year.
