Soho Rep and the NAATCO National Partnership Project will present Public Obscenities, a bilingual play performed in Bangla and English from writer-director Shayok Misha Chowdhury, co-commissioned and produced by the two organizations, February 15-March 26, 2023.

NYU Skirball will present the world premiere of Field of Mars, a commissioned work by award-winning playwright/director Richard Maxwell and New York City Players, running Jan. 19 – 29, 2023 at NYU Skirball as part of the Under the Radar festival.

Sarah Benson and Meropi Peponides, two of Soho Rep's three Directors, will step down at the end of the current season, after 15 and 8 years with the influential Off Broadway theater.

Soho Rep will present Montag, written by Kate Tarker, directed by Dustin Wills and with original opera music by Daniel Schlosberg. The world premiere production of Montag runs October 12–November 13 at Soho Rep.

Playwrights Horizons will present Mia Chung’s Catch as Catch Can, directed by Daniel Aukin, running October 14 - November 20 and opening November 1.

The Tank will present Immense Joy, a new work devised and directed by downtown luminary Anna Kohler in collaboration with performers Natalia de Campos, Justin Gordon, John Hagan, Fabio Tavares, and associate director Caleb Hammond. The performances run from September 8 through 18, 2022.

Soho Rep has announced that writer and social commentator Roxane Gay, Global Head of Intelligent Automation at Spotify Sidney Madison Prescott, and artist Carmelita Tropicana have joined the organization’s Board of Directors.

Being Future Being will have its world premiere at BroadStage at Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center, September 8–10, 2022, followed by performances at New York Live Arts, October 20–22.

Playwrights Horizons today announced its 2022–2023 season. TFANA and Saint Flashlight present The Will of the City, poems inspired by playwright and poet William Shakespeare, launching today and running through the fall. Spotlighting the work of over a dozen writers, this activation will transform the streetside and outdoor screens at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place, Brooklyn, NY)—Theatre for a New Audience's home in Fort Greene—into a bi-weekly updated anthology of poems inspired by Shakespeare's plays.

Soho Rep. is presenting eight works created by artists comprising Project Number One, the organization’s 2020 initiative bringing theater-makers onto the Soho Rep. staff in a moment of extreme precarity for the artistic community.

Lincoln Center Theater’s LCT SPOTLIGHT SERIES, a free program of digital events, featuring LCT artists in performance, conversation and more, will continue on Thursday, February 11 at 7pm with the second episode of “Lileana Blain-Cruz In Conversation: On Directing.”

Theatre Communications Group has announced the publication of Evening Plays by Richard Maxwell. The Evening premiered at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis in the winter of 2015. Samara was produced by Soho Rep. and premiered at A.R.T./New York Theatres in the spring of 2017. Paradiso premiered at Greene Naftali in New York City in the winter of 2018.

A total of 25 music teachers from 24 cities across 16 states, have been announced as semifinalists for the Music Educator Award™ presented by the Recording Academy® and GRAMMY Museum®.
