The British Museum is pleased to announce a generous gift  that will be dedicated to the Pictorial Conservation Studio in the World Conservation and Exhibition Centre (WCEC). The Mark Pigott Pictorial Conservation Studio encompasses three vital resources for the Museum: the Conservation Studio, the Organics Wet Room and the Mounting Studio.

The British Museum, in collaboration with our UK museum partners, is holding a national conversation about the role of the British Museum beyond Bloomsbury; Museum of the Citizen. Over the next few months UK partners and the British Museum will host a series of events examining the social, political, financial and educational value of museums working in partnership around the country.

New British musical BEST OF FRIENDS, with book, music and lyrics by Nick Fogarty, will finally get its London premiere at the Landor Theatre, directed by the venue's artistic director, Robert McWhir, from Wednesday 23 April. Best of Friends was due in London last summer as The Golden Voice, starring Darren Day. Scheduled to open at the Arts Theatre, it was delayed multiple times before it was eventually cancelled. Actors' union Equity then launched legal action in an attempt to claim back unpaid cast wages.

Is there room for another re-working of 'The Strange case of Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde'? I'd have said no. But Tony Rees and Gary Young thought otherwise and the result is 'The Man Inside', a musical delivered all through with the cast cut to the doctor/devil and two women who also represent opposite natures.

The show integrates songs (which Stephen Sondheim said he 'wished he'd written') from widely different Kleban projects into the narrative, each number establishing a particular moment of insight and creating a study of a lost era in show business.
