Outfest, the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing, showcasing and protecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media, has announced its complete programming lineup for Outfest 2011: The 29th Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.

This evening, Wednesday, May 25, 2011, Christine Vachon (Producer, Far From Heaven, Boys Don't Cry, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), fashion guru and author Carson Kressley of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, talk show host Phil Donahue, food critic and Chopped host Ted Allen, and openly-gay and HIV-positive New York State Senator Tom Duane will host a cocktail reception and preview screening from 6:30-8:30 PM at New York City's LGBT Community Center, 208 West 13th Street (between 7th & Greenwich Avenues) in Manhattan to raise funds for ACT UP!, a documentary film currently in production with the expectation of premiering at Sundance 2012, followed by wide theatrical release and television broadcast.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed 'Best of New York' by New York Magazine and 'an invaluable New York institution' by The New York Post, continued its all-star Spring 2011 season with the return of Tony Award-winning Broadway star, LAURA BENANTI. Her new show 'Let Me Entertain You' featured songs from her Broadway roles in Gypsy ('Let Me Entertain You'), Nine ('Unusual Way'), Into The Woods ('Children Will Listen') and Swing! ('Skylark' and 'Hit Me With A Hot Note'), in addition to classics such as 'Alright, Okay, You Win,' 'They All Laughed' and 'If I Were A Bell.' '

Paper Mill Playhouse hosted its Center Stage Celebration on Friday, May 13th at the Hilton Short Hills. The benefit honored eight time Academy Award®-winning composer Alan Menken with the theater's prestigious Frank Carrington Excellence in the Arts Award. There to add to the entertainment of the evening and help honor the music man was Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award winner Laura Benanti. The Broadway premiere of Larry Kramer's ground-breaking play The Normal Heart officially opened last night, Wednesday, April 27, at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street). Phoenix Rising Productions has announced the West Coast premiere of Tennessee & Anna, a play by Franco D'Alessandro, directed by Anthony Caldarella. A guest production at the Odyssey Theatre in West Los Angeles featuring multi-award-winners Morlan Higgins and Karen Kondazian, Tennessee & Anna begins previews on April 5, and opening is set for Saturday, April 9 at 8pm. Performances will continue through May 29.

As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, Laura Benanti will star in NBC's drama pilot 'Playboy Club.' Benanti will star as Carol-Lynne, a 30-year-old Playboy star. Now Variety reports that the pilot's actors had to sign nudity clauses, which state: 'nudity as defined above and/or simulated sex acts may be required in connection with player's services in the pilot and/or series.'
