The Wooster Group will present nightly performances of HAMLET at The Performing Garage during a three-week video shoot of the production. Public showings of the live performance begin the evening of Wednesday, October 24th and run through Sunday, November 11th, 2012.

Although never himself a 'star,' Rothenberg's multilayered life brought him contact with Broadway's brightest lights, as well as prison riots, political campaigns, civil rights sit-ins, and a Central American civil war. A celebration of the life of John Neville will be held in Stratford today, July 15. Mr. Neville, who was Artistic Director of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival from 1986 to 1989, died on November 19. He was 86.

Today in 1980, the first Broadway revival of Camelot opened at the New York State Theatre, where it ran for 56 performances. Camelot is a musical by Alan Jay Lerner (book and lyrics) and Frederick Loewe (music). It is based on the King Arthur legend as adapted from the T. H. White tetralogy novel The Once and Future King. The original 1960 production, directed by Moss Hart and orchestrated by Robert Russell Bennett and Philip J. Lang, ran on Broadway for 873 performances, winning four Tony Awards and spawning several revivals, foreign productions and a 1967 film version. The 1980 cast starred Richard Burton, Christine Ebersole, and Richard Muenz.

Fox News reports that comic actor Victor Spinetti, who appeared in three Beatles movies and won a Tony on Broadway, died this morning after losing a long battle with cancer. The news was revealed by the actor's agent and close friend Barry Burnett. Spinetti was 82.

Radaronline reports that Lindsay Lohan will no longer take part in the upcoming biopic of John Gotti starring John Travolta in the title role. According to the report, Lohan's representatives were not able to reach a mutual agreement with the producers of the film.

Recently revived on the Broadway stage this past winter, Noel Coward's comic tour de force PRIVATE LIVES now comes to Pittsburgh to finish off Pittsburgh Public Theater's "Red Hot" 2011-2012 season. Coward's silly screwball romp from the 1930s tells the story of two former lovers, Elyot and Amanda, reunited five years after a presumably malicious divorce. The glamorously volatile couple rekindles their lust for one another after being forced together by adjoining hotel balconies on their respective second honeymoons - and the madness that ensues is a hilarious clash of verbal and physical proportions between both members of the highly acidic pair.
