Arden Theatre Company opens its 29th season with Aaron Posner's STUPID f**kING BIRD, 'sort of' adapted from Anton Checkov's The Seagull. Posner, an Arden co-founder and former Artistic Director who has directed nearly 40 productions for the company, also directs his show for the first time. STUPID f**kING BIRD runs September 15 through October 16, 2016, on the F. Otto Haas Stage at 40 N. 2nd Street in Philadelphia.

The 24 Hour Company (producers of The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway and around the world, as well as The 24 Hour Musicals) and their longtime collaborator The New School College of Performing Arts, School of Drama will present The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals in New York City this summer.

The Actors Equity professional Actors Shakespeare Company, in residence at the historic Snyder Academy in Elizabeth, New Jersey will participate in the 'Celebrate Hamilton' festival by offering a free staged reading of AT LIBERTY HALL, by New Jersey playwright James Christy on Friday, July 8 at 8pm at The Snyder Academy. In AT LIBERTY HALL, the lives of contemporary high schooler Cristian Rosario and future founding father Alexander Hamilton intertwine across 350 years. Through a letter-writing friendship, they each begin their paths toward adulthood.

Sundance Institute today announced the acting company, dramaturgs and creative advisors participating in its pilot Theatre Lab in the MENA region, including Sandra Oh, Hoon Lee, Deanna Dunagan, Hala Omran and Raeda Taha. The Lab, held in Morocco next month, is part of the Institute's international cultural exchange programs for independent artists and will kick off a new, multi-year commitment to support artists from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). For the Lab, the Institute will provide promising, fresh voices from the U.S. and MENA region with a rigorous artistic retreat and new opportunities for cross-cultural discovery, artistic reflection and creative experimentation.

HONKY by Greg Kalleres received its World Premiere at NYC's Award winning Theatre Company Urban Stages in the spring of 2013. The Urban Stages production, directed by Luke Harlan, received raves, and the play was subsequently remounted later that year. Due to its NY success, HONKY was produced at San Diego Rep and was filmed by PBS and OnStage in America and will receive a landmark presentation tomorrow, November 6, at 10PM (www.pbs.org/onstage-in-america/honky/home/).

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis opens the 2015-2016 Studio Theatre series with I and You by Lauren Gunderson and directed by Jane Page. This moving production runs October 28 - November 15 in the Emerson Studio Theatre of the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts. The 15th anniversary season of The Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH) (Ty Jones, Producing Artistic Director; David Roberts, Managing Director) continues with CTH's free, summer, uptown production of William Shakespeare's The Tempest, presented in partnership with City Parks Foundation's SummerStage festival. The Carl Cofield-directed production, which stars New York theater and Broadway veteran Ron Cephas Jones, will transform the Richard Rodgers Amphitheater in Marcus Garvey Park into an enchanted Caribbean island where the magic takes flight, with an elaborate aerial design elements planned. The third annual CTH Under the Stars presentation holds previews tonight, July 3, and Saturday, July 4. Performances, which are free and open to the public, run from July 5 through 26.

Fifteen years after Columbine, with school shootings continuing to proliferate the national headlines, Nathaniel Sam Shapiro's The Erlkings will get its world premiere. Directed by Saheem Ali and presented by Factory School Productions and Rashad V. Chambers, The Erlkings began performances on November 9, and opened on November 16 through December 13, 2014 at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street).
