George London: Between Gods & Demons New Doc in U.S. Premiere Screening

As a special event in its 2011-2012 season, The George London Foundation for Singers will present the U.S. premiere screening of George London: Between Gods and Demons, a 2011 documentary film about the career of the legendary singer - the pre-eminent American bass-baritone of the postwar era who was a leader in the cultivation of young talent - on the exact 60th anniversary of his Metropolitan Opera debut: Sunday, November 13, 2011, at 3:00 PM.

Silver Palm Award Recipients Announced

The Silver Palm Awards committee - founded four years ago to honor theatrical excellence in South Florida - has announced that this year it will present the coveted award to 17 individuals, including two for direction of plays, two for playwriting and one for creating a memorable fighting sequence. Also among the honorees is Mosaic Theatre for its ensemble work in the 2011 production of The Irish Curse.

Dallas Opera Announces Season Of 'Tragic Obsessions'

The Dallas Opera is pleased to announce the five darkly dazzling operas that comprise the company's 2011-12 season in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. With opening night on Friday, October 21, 2011, the 55th international season - "Tragic Obsessions" - will showcase compelling works by Donizetti, Janacek, Wagner, Verdi and Mozart, and will include an outstanding Dallas opera-in-concert, important debuts and some of the company's most renowned productions. Each opera will feature the superbly talented Dallas Opera Orchestra and Dallas Opera Chorus and will be performed in its original language, with English translations projected above the stage at every performance. Exclusive subscriber extras include "A Cabaret Evening with Patricia Racette" and a fun-filled family concert starring soprano Ava Pine and the Dallas Opera Orchestra.

Yale Rep Announces A DOCTOR IN SPITE OF HIMSELF Cast

Yale Repertory Theatre (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) presents Molière's A DOCTOR IN SPITE OF HIMSELF, adapted by Christopher Bayes and Steven Epp, and directed by Christopher Bayes. A DOCTOR IN SPITE OF HIMSELF plays November 26-December 17 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street, at York Street). Opening Night is Friday, December 2.

2011 Gregory Award Nominees Announced
