After embarking on a search for New York's finest undiscovered concert acts earlier this summer, 54 Below recently announced the 16 finalists selected for their new concert development series, 54 CONCERT LAB. At the LAB, emerging artists hand-picked by 54 Below will develop new solo concerts bit by bit and draft by draft. Each artist will have the chance to preview their concert in 3 separate nights at 54 Below, beginning tonight, August 13 at 11:30pm.

Several original cast members from the iconic Broadway premiere production of THE WIZ convened last night in honor of the show's 40th anniversary in a series of special performances. Phylicia Rashad, Andre De Shields, Dee Dee Bridgewater and more will joined to celebrate the musical in Central Park and Marcus Garvey Park with a series of special outdoor celebrations featuring song, story and dance titled THE WIZ: A CELEBRATION IN DANCE & MUSIC. Lancaster's music scene has been greatly enriched by the stirrings of cabaret that have begun over the past few years. The end of January was notable, however, for two days of outstanding cabaret in a row on the 30th and 31st, first with Lancaster-based performer Reji Woods at the Ware Center, and then with Lancaster-bred performer Jonathan Groff giving a fundraiser at Ephrata Performing Arts Center.

The Ware Center's cabaret series is set to show off the musical theater chops of Lancaster's own Reji Woods, who will perform in “Someone to Fall Back On” at the Ware Center tonight, Jan. 30, at 7:30 p.m.

PRiMA Theatre, a Lancaster non-profit, professional theatre organization, has announced their fifth anniversary season (Details at primatheatre.org), starting with FIVE, a special fifth anniversary cabaret featuring PRiMA's finest talent and the unforgettable show-stopping tunes from the past five seasons. Professional performers include Kristen Brewer, Michael Fisher, Josh Keefer, Erin McCullough, Reji Woods. The singers will be accompanied by Music Director and acclaimed regional pianist Andy Roberts. Past shows represented by song include PRiMA's Glee, The Music of West Side Story, Chess, Guilty Pleasures, Rockin Rodgers & Hammerstein, Songs For A New World, Monster Music, 80's Re-Lived! and Oz in Concert.

The Classical Theater of Harlem (CTH) will present the Off-Broadway premiere of Archbishop Supreme Tartuffe by Alfred Preisser & Randy Weiner, directed by CTH Co-Founder & Artistic Director, Alfred Preisser. Performances will begin June 12th and run through July 19th only at Theatre Row's Clurman Theatre (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues).
