The Acting Company has announced the complete cast for the reading of Mustapha Matura's new play Three Sisters After Chekhov. This is a part of the Reading Series in honor of The Acting Company's 50th anniversary.
Woodie King, Jr., Founder and Producing Director of New Federal Theatre (NFT), will retire from leadership of the famed theater company on June 30, 2021, handing the baton to NFT's newly appointed Artistic Director, Elizabeth Van Dyke.
In 1996, Brooke Procida was portraying high-school student Donna Santangelo on ABC/Warner Brothers long running hit comedy, Family Matters, with Jaleel White and Reginald Vel Johnson. After fully curing and overcoming a disease that most struggle to even get diagnosed, Brooke boldly returns to Hollywood in this gripping new one act play to be mounted at the iconic Whitmore-Lindley theatre complex in North Hollywood.

The historic Theatre Training Workshops of Woodie King, Jr.'s New Federal Theatre will move uptown next month to Dwyer Cultural Center at 258 St. Nicholas Ave. (at 123rd Street). They were previously held in spaces adjoining the theater's offices at 292 Henry Street. The workshops have been a fertile training ground for leading African-American playwrights and actors.
