Sally Kellerman Sets Upcoming Shows in Hollywood, NYC & More

Sally Kellerman, the legendary Oscar-nominated “Hot Lips” of the original “MASH,” will bring her new show, “A Little Jazz, a Little Blues, a Little Rock and Roll” to the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 8:30 PM. She'll also play 54 Below in New York on Friday, Jan. 23 at 9:30 PM and the Rrazz Room in New Hope, PA on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 8 PM. The acclaimed show is a celebration of her 40-year cabaret career, from early years at Reno Sweeney in Greenwich Village up to recent performances in L.A. and San Francisco.

Sundance 2015 Announces 'Spotlight', 'Park City at Midnight' and 'New Frontier' Selections

Sundance Institute announced today the films selected to screen in the 2015 Sundance Film Festival out-of-competition sections Spotlight and Park City at Midnight, as well as the films and installations to be featured in the New Frontier program. The Festival, which takes place January 22 to February 1 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah, is the centerpiece of the year-round public programs for the Institute, which also hosts 24 residency labs and grants more than $2.5 million to independent artists each year.

John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey to Return to Cafe Carlyle, 10/28-11/22

MetroStage to Present ELLA FITZGERALD: FIRST LADY OF SONG, 1/23-3/16

Carolyn Griffin has announced that MetroStage will be presenting the musical Ella Fitzgerald: First Lady of Song, conceived and directed by Maurice Hines, with book by Lee Summers, Jan. 23-Mar. 16, 2014. Ella Fitzgerald, her cousin and traveling companion Georgiana, and her manager and jazz impresario Norman Granz tell her story both backstage and onstage. From a homeless street dancer to winning amateur night at the Apollo Theatre at the age of 15, from headlining with Chick Webb and his Orchestra at the Savoy Ballroom to performing Live at the Cote D'Azur, from discovering she could "scat" to mastering a new art form called "bebop," this musical tells the fascinating journey of this legendary artist. Maurice Hines is the director. Mel Johnson Jr. is the associate director, and William Knowles is the music director, arranger, and orchestrator.
