USA Network announced its first series pick-up from its existing pilot slate for the 2015-2016 season with a 10-episode order for MR. ROBOT (WORKING TITLE).
USA Network announced the pilot pick-up of the CBS Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions drama EVIL MEN, starring Dallas Roberts (“Dallas Buyers Club”) and Clifton Collins Jr. (“Pacific Rim”). The pilot is from writer and executive producer Daniel Taplitz (“Breakin' All the Rules”). Gary Fleder (“Life Unexpected”), Eric and Kim Tannenbaum (“Two and a Half Men”) and Mary Beth Basile (“October Road”) also serve as executive producers. Fleder is set to direct.
USA Network has give a 13-episode third season order for their hit drama series GRACELAND, starring Aaron Tveit. The new season is set to premiere in the summer of 2015.
Christian Slater (“Nymphomaniac,” “Adderall Diaries”) has been cast in the title role of USA Network's cyber-crime pilot MR. ROBOT. Mr. Robot is a mysterious anarchist who recruits Elliot (Rami Malek) into an underground hacker organization intent on bringing down corporate America.
Winner of the Grand Jury and Audience Awards at the 2013 South by Southwest Film Festival, Destin Daniel Cretton's Short Term 12 is warmly empathetic look at a facility for at-risk teenagers, told through the eyes of the home's counselors (played by Brie Larson, John Gallagher Jr. and Rami Malek) and their young charges. The full line-up has been revealed for the Cannes Film Festival Critics Week. Miguel Gomes, director of Portuguese film, will preside over the jury while French director Mia Hansen-Love will serve as jury president of the short films competition.
Cinedigm has acquired all North American and Latin American distribution rights to Destin Daniel Cretton's 2013 SXSW Film Festival dual Grand Jury and Audience Award winner Short Term 12. Cinedigm plans to release the film theatrically in late summer with an eye towards awards for the film and its performances.
