Korean American playwright Lloyd Suh's Off-Broadway play 'American Hwangap' holds its Asian premiere in Manila through a co-production arrangement between the Cultural Center of the Philippines' (CCP) resident theatre company Tanghalang Pilipino, and New York-based Lark Play Development Center. Top billed by the Philippines' most respected actors on stage, television and film - Mario O' Hara, Celeste Legaspi, Gina Pareño and Bembol Roco - 'American Hwangap' is presented in its original English form, and in a Filipino translation written by Philippine literature professor and writer Joi Barrios-Leblanc. The play runs until Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the CCP Little Theatre.

In 1996, DINK Records released a compendium of musical theater love songs from Gershwin, Sondheim, Porter, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Herman, Kern,..., with a twist. Sung between men, with no lyric alterations (including pronouns), 'Stage 1 How I Love You' was, as Out Magazine described 'a dream no longer deferred.'
Ma-Yi Theater Company - the Off-Broadway, Obie Award-winning company dedicated to producing new works about the Asian-American experience - will present the world-premiere of Michi Barall's play 'RESCUE ME (A Post-modern classic with snacks)', an adaptation of Euripides 'Iphigenia in Taurus,' previewing March 23 and opening March 30 at the Ohio Theatre (66 Wooster St.) in Manhattan.
On Monday, September 14th, The National Asian American Theatre Company (NAATCO) will present a one-night-only all Asian-American performance of Terrence McNally's LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION!, directed by Alan Muraoka, at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) to benefit NAATCO. Joe Mantello, the original director of LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION! and Stephen Bogardus, a member of the play's original cast, were honorary chairs for the NAATCO benefit performance.
