The nationally acclaimed string quartet ETHEL commemorates a decade serving as the Ensemble-in-Residence of the Grand Canyon Music Festival's Native American Composer Apprentice Project (NACAP). Since 2005, ETHEL has been extending the gift of music to the underserved and rural communities of the Navajo and Hopi Indian reservations. To date, ETHEL's residency has impacted almost 18,000 students, premiered over 150 works by Native American children, and touched more than 15 schools throughout Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. Tonight, June 3rd, at Aria in Minneapolis, The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's Liquid Music series, along with Schubert Club Mix and American Composers Forum, presents adventurous string quartet ETHEL performing Documerica, a multimedia presentation featuring new music from a wide range of composing talents.
The celebrated Newman & Oltman Guitar Duo will appear at the Raritan River Music Festival tonight, May 24. The Duo, in a collaboration with string quartet, ETHEL will perform a program of Raritan River commissioned works by Paul Moravec, Michael Karmon, and Dusan Bogdanovic. The concert will also include the music of Augusta Read Thomas in a celebration of her 50th birthday. Beginning at 7:30pm the concert will take place at the Clinton Presbyterian Church in Clinton, NJ.

You|Stories in an innovative national program, funded in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities, that uses arts and humanities to explore the ancient and modern narratives of war.
