The Broadway revival of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men played its final performance today. The producion starred Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner James Franco, BAFTA and Tony Award nominee Chris O'Dowd, Leighton Meester, and Tony and Olivier Award winner Jim Norton. Directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro, Of Mice and Men was the first 'hit' of the spring, recouping its $3.8 million capitalization in only twelve weeks. The critically acclaimed production originally opened on Wednesday, April 16, at Broadway's Longacre Theatre (220 West 48 Street).

David Binder has just announced an international broadcast of the critically-acclaimed, smash-hit revival of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men will be the first Broadway show filmed by National Theatre Live. Starring Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner James Franco, BAFTA and Tony Award nominee Chris O'Dowd, Leighton Meester and Tony and Olivier Award winner Jim Norton, and directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro, Of Mice and Men will be filmed at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48 Street) and distributed by National Theatre Live. Screening dates for Of Mice and Men will be announced shortly.

Tonight, June 27th, The Champagne Riot returns to Astor Place venue Tango House to raise the roof with another unforgettable, fizzy-buzzy celebrations of jazz, burlesque and vaudeville.

The Brooklyn College Department of Theater will present its inaugural New Works Brooklyn festival today, June 25-29. The series will feature staged readings of one-act plays written by Kia Corthron, Erin Courtney, Jose Rivera, Anne Washburn, and Mac Wellman, all of whom will take part in audience talkbacks during the week. In addition, Rivera will direct his own piece, and Corthron, Courtney, Washburn, and Wellman will take part in a panel discussion on the development of new plays on the closing day of the festival.

Atlantic Records will release the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the most nominated musical revival of the season, featuring Tony Award nominees Neil Patrick Harris and Lena Hall. The album is produced by HEDWIG composer Stephen Trask, Tony Award nominated sound designer and platinum-selling record producer Tim O'Heir, and the production's music director Justin Craig. The album is executive produced by Elie Landau and David Binder.

The 80th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon is being held this afternoon, May 16, at the Marriott Marquis Times Square, where winners will be announced for Distinguished Production of a Play, Distinguished Production of a Musical, Distinguished Revival of a Play, Distinguished Revival of a Musical, and the much coveted Distinguished Performance Award. The critically acclaimed UK premiere of Jerry Mitchell's Dirty Rotten Scoundrels will extend its run at The Savoy Theatre and is now booking until 7 March 2015. Robert Lindsay, Rufus Hound and Katherine Kingsley will continue with their celebrated performances as Lawrence Jameson, Freddy Benson and Christine Colgate throughout this new booking period.
