Greed and familial betrayal is at the darkly comic heart of The Little Foxes by Tony Award-winning playwright Lillian Hellman-'an expertly constructed, grippingly paced plot machine that pits good against evil and lets evil win' (The New York Times). Artistic Associate Henry Wishcamper directs the classic 1939 play about wealth's corrupting power-one of Hellman's most notable works, which was adapted into a 1941 film starring Bette Davis-centering on the Hubbard family's ruthless pursuit in the South's post-bellum economic slump. The Little Foxes appears May 2 - June 7 in the Albert Theatre (opening night is Monday, May 11). By popular demand, Steppenwolf Theatre Company has extended the hit summer production of Slowgirl by Greg Pierce, directed by ensemble member Randall Arney, and featuring ensemble member William Petersen with Rae Gray. Slowgirl continues for six additional performances, through September 1. Theater Wit has announced a six-week extension of its current hit play, Completeness. Wit' Chicago premiere of Itamar Moses's smart, sexy new romantic comedy will now run through May 4, 2013.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company has announced the addition of Slowgirl by Greg Pierce to this summer's line-up. Directed by ensemble member Randall Arney, the production features ensemble member William Petersen with Rae Gray in the newly reconfigured Upstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St), July 18 - August 25, 2013. Modern romance is more complex than any scientific problem ever in Itamar Moses's smart, sexy new comedy Completeness, receiving its Midwest premiere in a Theater Wit production at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago. Previews begin Feb. 7, 2013. Press opening is Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 7 pm. Performances run through March 24. Due to high demand for tickets, Steppenwolf Theatre Company adds three additional public performances to the world premiere of Markus Zusak'sThe Book Thief, adapted by Heidi Stillman, directed by Hallie Gordon, after selling out all school and public performances-including the previously announced extension.
