Stuart Weitzman Holdings LLC has named François Kress as global president.Stuart Weitzman Holdings, LLC announced that Francois Kress has joined as Global President. In this newly created position, Kress will oversee all aspects of the global retail and wholesale business plus take on the role of strategic leader for new initiatives and brand extensions. He will report directly to Wayne Kulkin, CEO, and will be based out of international headquarters in New York City.

Rumors are flying around the industry that Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. is in early talks to acquire the indie cosmetics brand Butter London. Butter was founded in 2005 as a nail enamel line by British entrepreneur Sasha Muir and manicurist Nonie Creme, and has since expanded into a range of lip, eye and cheek color. The new line launched at Ulta in August and on butterlondon.com. Earlier this year, Leslie Freytag, Butter London's chief executive officer, claimed it to be the number-two brand in the prestige nail color category, right after Chanel.

Macy's announced an effort to grow its market share in active wear and to strengthen its appeal to the Millennial customer with an expansion of its athletic apparel assortment, which will include Nike, The North Face, Under Armour, Calvin Klein Performance and Ideology, to more stores this fall and the addition of Helly Hansen in select locations. This aggressive expansion of active follows the retailer's announcement of its relationship with Finish Line last fall, as well as with team sport experts, LIDS, announced last month. Macy's Millennial brands are positioned within the retailer's Mstylelab (primarily serving customers ages 13 to 22) and Impulse (primarily serving customers ages 19 to 30) departments offering a diverse product assortment curated to appeal to a wide cross-section of lifestyles.

The Jones Group Inc. ('Jones,' the 'Company') has appointed Joseph Stafiniak to the newly created position of Senior Vice President of Merchandising of Nine West, effective immediately.
