The Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) and the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) tonight announced the winners of the 2018 Writers Guild Awards for outstanding achievement in writing for film, television, new media, videogames, news, radio/audio, promotional, and graphic animation categories at concurrent ceremonies at the Edison Ballroom in New York City and The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

NYU Tisch School of the Arts today announced it will honor notable alumni Academy Award nominated producer, director and screenwriter Chris Columbus ('80) and filmmaker Eleanor Columbus ('11) at its 2018 gala. The annual event will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018, at Capitale."Chris and Eleanor Columbus represent a unique father-daughter partnership, both influenced by their time at the Tisch School of the Arts, and now influencing one another as they create, promote, and support fresh and exciting work," said Allyson Green, Dean, NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Nominations for THE CRITICS CHOICE AWARDS were announced today. Fox Searchlight's THE SHAPE OF WATER leads the pack with a whopping 14 nominations. Best Picture and Director contenders included DUNKIRK, CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, LADY BIRD and THE POST, each with eight nominations.

Nominations for THE GOLDEN GLOBES were announced today, Monday, Dec. 11. Winners in 25 categories - 14 in film and 11 in television - are voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Rachel Brosnahan will be presented with the second annual Stonestreet Granite Award, to be held on November 30th at TAJ in Chelsea. Last year, the inaugural Granite award went to Miles Teller.

Comedian Lisa Lampanelli's new play, Stuffed, officially opens Off-Broadway this fall in a new production at the Westside Theatre (Downstairs, 407 West 43rd Street), following a limited NYC run last fall at WP Theater. Following the departure of Nikki Blonsky from the cast, opening night, originally scheduled for October 19, will now officially take place on October 31, 2017 at the Westside Theatre (Downstairs, 407 West 43rd Street). Amazon today announced that critically-acclaimed multi-hyphenates Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino (Gilmore Girls) have entered a multi-year overall deal with Amazon Studios. Sherman-Palladino and Palladino will develop television projects that will add to their unprecedented two-season greenlight of upcoming Amazon Original Series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which debuts this fall on Prime Video.

Beloved film and television actor Wallace Shawn has signed on to for a guest-starring role in Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino's upcoming Amazon Original Series THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL. Shawn will play Herb Smith, a self-proclaimed comedy writer who 'shapes acts, writes jokes, and eats pastrami.'

Emmy winner Jane Lynch will guest-star in MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, a period dramedy from Gilmore Girls creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino.

On August 21st, over 70 caring members of the Broadway community, including some of the biggest stars on Broadway, will be sleeping on the streets of New York City in support of the homeless youth at Covenant House.
