The long overdue London premiere of the Broadway musical The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd, directed by acclaimed West End and RSC director Ian Judge, and designed by three time Olivier Award winner Tim Goodchild, opens for a four week limited season at the Finborough Theatre on Tuesday, 7 June 2011 (Press Night: Thursday, 9 June 2011 at 7.30pm).

After a sold-out and critically acclaimed run at The New York International Fringe Festival, the award-winning The Umbrella Plays is back, for a limited engagement at The Tank, March 31st - April 10th.

Written by Stephanie Janssen and directed by Daniel Talbott (art. dir. Rising Phoenix Rep, Keep Your Baggage With You (at all times)), The Umbrella Plays connects six snap-shot-sized plays, each offering a glimpse into the lives of a disparate (and sometimes desperate) cast of characters, as they work their ways through inclement weather of the literal and figurative variety, searching for shelter in whatever form it can be found. The smallest and most common-place of objects, the simple umbrella, becomes the entry point into these stories, reminding us that there is more than meets the eye in the most innocuous-seeming pieces of a life, and the most fleeting of moments. Storms crash in and leave their marks, lovers are sought and lost and found again, ambitions jump the tracks and hopes get renewed, and in the swirl of these six stories, an umbrella is never, ever just an umbrella.

Ars Nova presents, as part of the Out Loud series, a FREE reading of: THIS IS MY OFFICE by Andy Bragen, directed by Hal Brooks. The one-man play will be read by Greg Keller.

Abingdon Theatre Company concludes its 2010-2011 Season with the New York premiere of SUMMER IN SANCTUARY, a new play by Al Letson, noted poet, playwright and host of NPR's 'State of the Re:Union' about one man's attempt to connect with disadvantaged youths using words and poetry, with previews set to begin March 25, prior to its official press opening on April 3 at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex's Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th Street) in Manhattan. Directed by Rob Urbinati, best known for his direction of Staceyann Chin's BORDER/CLASH.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the complete cast and creative team for Ayub Khan-Din's Olivier Award-winning comedy, Rafta, Rafta..., based on All in Good Time by Bill Naughton. Directed by Jonathan Silverstein, Rafta, Rafta... will run in the Old Globe Theatre March 19 - April 24. Preview performances run March 19 - March 23. The OBIE Award-winning Vampire Cowboys Theatre Company, will present the world premiere of "THE INEXPLICABLE REDEMPTION OF AGENT G," written by Qui Nguyen and directed by Robert Ross Parker (with fight direction by Nguyen), when it begins performances on March 24 at Incubator Arts Project (incubatorarts.org), St. Mark's Church-in-the-Bowery, 131 East 10th Street (at 2nd Avenue).

The Queens Theatre in the Park Board of Directors today announced the appointment of Ray Cullom as executive director.

Tony winner Christine Ebersole has announced several performances for this Spring Ebersole will play the Irving Texas Symphony in An Evening With Christine Ebersole. The event will feature Billy Stritch, and will take place on March 12 at 8pm.
