This morning, Norbert Leo Butz and Kathleen Chalfant announced the nominations for The 77th Annual Drama League Awards in the categories of Distinguished Production of Play, Distinguished Production of a Musical, Distinguished Revival of a Play, Distinguished Revival of a Musical and the Distinguished Performance Award. A group of National Youth Theatre performers today jetted off to present Living the Dream in the UK Pavilion at Shanghai World Expo as global ambassadors for British culture. Starting on 19th July, the show will be performed on the pavilion site, and will link live action in Shanghai with scenes recorded in London, to create an audacious site specific production inspired by William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
The English National Opera will team up with Punchdrunk to co-produce THE DUCHESS OF MALFI, Torsten Rasch's opera, in its world premiere. The production will be site-specific and take place at Great Eastern Quady in London's Royal Albert Basin. Performances will begin on July 13.
