Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) offers twenty-two writers a chance to practice their pitching skills with real producers who are looking for new work. TRU's next WRITER-PRODUCER SPEED DATE will take place on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 5:30pm and 6:30pm at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street (below W. 3rd Street), NYC. Commercial Broadway producers already scheduled to listen and respond to writer pitches include Pam Koslow (Jane Eyre, Jelly's Last Jam, Yank!), Ken Waissman (Grease, Torch Song Trilogy), Jane Dubin (The Norman Conquests revival, 39 Steps), Cheryl Wiesenfeld (Legally Blonde, A Steady Rain, The Exonerated) and Apples and Oranges Productions (Memphis, Hair), with six more to be announced.

To this end, Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) presents a powerful full-day TRU Boot Camp to help theater professionals (and others) shape up their ideas and turn them into reality: PITCHING & PRESENTATION SKILLS, A One-Day Workshop for Producers, Writers and Anyone with an Idea to Sell! taught by a lineup of experts including marketing professional Sharon Albert, Ph.D. and presentation coach Gillien Goll. Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces that the 2010 recipient of the 'TRU Spirit of Theater' Award will be producer Patricia Flicker Addiss. Given to a member of the theater community who has demonstrated exceptional generosity of spirit, and a willingness to support emerging artists and producers, the award will be presented at the annual TRU Love Benefit on Sunday November 14 at Caroline's on Broadway, 1626 Broadway between 49th and 50th Streets, NYC. There will be a cocktail hour at noon with passed hors d'oeuvres, a three-course luncheon at 1pm followed by entertainment and the awards ceremony.
