Riley, presents an Actor Resource Night (and 'Speed Dating') on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 7pm at Weist Barron Studios in New York. The event is a networking meeting, including casting directors Judy Bowman, Cahill Connolly of Casting Solutions, and Dani Super; photographer Blu Toth; coach Connie George; and five other coaches and website designers.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) proudly announces the two honorees for their 8th annual TRU Love Benefit, which will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2009 from noon to 4pm at Caroline's on Broadway, 1626 Broadway at 49th Street, NYC. Elysabeth Kleinhans of 59E59 Theatres will receive the TRU 'Spirit of Theater' Award for her ongoing generosity towards TRU as well as the off-Broadway producing community in general; and Allan Buchman of Culture Project will be acknowledged with the TRU Humanitarian Award for his dedication to bringing politically and socially conscious works to life in New York theater, and successfully using the arts for social change.

Jack Ferver presents an evening of desire and humiliation, combining two of his most hilarious and erotic works. I Am Trying To Hear Myself concerns the elusive quality of romance and the disappointment of viewing one's current life through the idealization of one's past. Ferver will also show an excerpt of the new piece he is working on, Vandam Goodbar, about the humorous, disturbing, and unfortunate violent excursions that can happen in the restless search for a connection.

On June 23rd, a remarkable album, eight years in the making, will be released. 'LISTEN' is a collection of 15 original songs, written by children who stutter, and recorded by iconic artists including Carly Simon, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Duncan Sheik, John Forte, Mandy Patinkin and many others. In addition, Jon Bon Jovi donated the use of his studio, so that his state-of-the-art facility could support the recording process. Superstars from the worlds of pop, rock, R&B, Broadway, hip-hop and more joined together to contribute their time and talents to a cause bigger than stuttering - a call for compassion and acceptance, and for respect of one-another's differences.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces the winning selections of the 2009 TRU Voices New Plays Reading Series. In a series that is unique because it develops new producers as well as new plays, three works were chosen from submissions by emerging or established producers, as well as from writers who hoped to be matched with a producer. Fulfilling TRU's mission of nurturing the producer-writer relationship, each of the plays this year is either produced by, or with the assistance of, a member of the TRU Producer Mentorship program.
