Stark Sands to Preview KINKY BOOTS Song at 2012 TRU Love Benefit, 11/11

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) has announced that Stark Sands, star of TV (Six Feet Under), movies (Pack of Dogs, Shall We Dance) and stage (American Idiot, Tony nominee for the Broadway revival of Journey's End) will be offering up a preview of the new incoming musical Kinky Boots by Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein at the 2012 TRU Love Benefit. The event will be held Sunday, November 11th with cocktails and hors d'ouevres at noon, luncheon at 1pm and performances at 2pm. Attendees will get a preview of a new Broadway song as well as a new venue: it all takes place at the wild and notorious Lucky Cheng's, which only just recently opened its new branch at 240 W. 52nd Street in New York's theater district.

Epic Theatre Ensemble has announced post-performance forums lead by scholars, authors, and thinkers, which also includes members of the cast and creative team, immediately following every performance of DISPATCHES FROM (A)MENDED AMERICA, directed by Ron Russell, and HOLD THESE TRUTHS, directed by Lisa Rothe. Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) will celebrate its 21st year as a not-for-profit service organization with their annual TRU Love Benefit, Making the Impossible Possible! honoring producer Van Dean of the Broadway Consortium; director-choreographer Jerry Mitchell and Broadway Bares; and legendary downtown entrepreneur Edith O'Hara and the 13th Street Repertory.

HOLD THESE TRUTHS and More Featured in Epic Theatre Ensemble's Fall Season

The Award winning Epic Theatre Ensemble, now in their 11th year, will present two Off Broadway shows in repertory for their Fall Season. Dispatches From (A)mended America, directed by Ron Russell previews October 10th through 17th and opens on Thursday, October 18th. Hold These Truths, directed by Lisa Rothe, previews October 12th though 20th and opens Sunday, October 21st. They will be performed at the Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street). TRU Now Accepting Submissions for 2012 New Musicals Reading Series

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) is extending the submission deadline for the 2012TRU Voices New Musicals Reading Series to August 23 (for musicals without a producer) and August 30 (with a producer attached). Two to three musicals will be chosen and read on Mondays in December at a theater to be confirmed. Submission guidelines are available at www.truonline.org/Musicals12guidelines.htm.
