Grey Gardens to open at Northlight Theatre

Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans announce the Chicago premiere of the Tony Award-winning musical Grey Gardens, book by Doug Wright, lyrics by Michael Korie and music by Scott Frankel. The production, directed by BJ Jones with musical direction by Doug Peck, choreography by Marla Lampert and featuring Hollis Resnik, Tempe Thomas and Ann Whitney, has already been extended and will now run November 12-December 28, 2008, at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presents The Language of Trees, a new play by Steven Levenson, directed by Alex Timbers, featuring Maggie Burke as 'Kay Danley,' Natalie Gold as 'Loretta Trumble-Pinkerstone,' Michael Hayden as 'Denton Pinkerstone,' Gio Perez as 'Eben Trumble-Pinkerstone' and Michael Warner as 'Bill Clinton.' WHERE ELEPHANTS WEEP to Have World Premiere in Cambodia 11/28

The Actors Fund will present an all-star reading of ALL ABOUT EVE, the classic backstage drama that is one of the most entertaining and witty films of all time. The reading will star Tony Awardâ winner Brian Bedford as 'Addison DeWitt,' Tony Awardâ nominee Peter Gallagher as 'Bill,' four time Tony Awardâ winner Angela Lansbury as 'Birdie,' Tony Awardâ winner Cynthia Nixon as 'Karen,' and Emmy Awardâ nominee John Slattery as 'Lloyd.' As previously announced, Golden Globeâ Award-winning actress Annette Bening will star as 'Margo Channing.'

To celebrate her recently released debut solo CD, I'VE GOTTA GET BACK TO NEW YORK, accomplished cabaret artist and Broadway vet Teri Ralston (Company, A Little Night Music) will make two special appearances in Manhattan this fall. On Wednesday, 15 October, at 6pm, Teri will sign CD's and sing selected songs at the Lincoln Triangle Barnes & Noble Bookstore. Then, on Monday, 17 November, at 9pm, she will perform in concert at the Metropolitan Room, where I'VE GOTTA GET BACK TO NEW YORK was recorded, live, earlier this year.

This fall Seattle Shakespeare Company offers the rare opportunity to experience both parts of Shakespeare's epic Henry IV. Shakespeare's Henry IV parts 1 and 2 have been adapted into one emotionally packed drama by Daikin Matthews. Artistic Director Stephanie Shine directs Henry IV with David Pichette playing King Henry, Tim Gouran as the playboy prince Hal, and Richard Ziman as the funny and complex Falstaff. With a low-priced preview on October 23, Henry IV opens on Friday, October 24. The production runs through November 16 at the Center House Theatre at Seattle Center.
