NJ PAC Hosts Inauguration Telecast At Prudential Hall 1/20

In honor of the historic inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center is opening its doors for a big-screen projection telecast of inaugural activities in Prudential Hall on Tuesday, January 20th at 10:30am. This special event is being presented in association with the City of Newark, Mayor Cory A. Booker and The Newark Municipal Council.

In celebration of Black History Month, award-winning Broadway star Andre De Shields will perform Mine Eyes Have Seen The Glory: From Douglass to Deliverance for one show only on Monday, February 9, 2009, 7:30 PM, at SEIU District 1199, 310 West 43rd Street. Presented by Actor's Equity Association's EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) Committee, the performance is free and open to the public. Seating will be on a first come, first served basis. Conceived, researched and written by Mr. De Shields, Mine Eyes is directed by Alfred Preisser, Artistic Director, Classical Theatre of Harlem, where Mr. De Shields has frequently performed.

'AntiGravity' To Perform at Obama's Neighborhood Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C.

On Tuesday, January 20, 2009, the acclaimed aerial performance troupe AntiGravity will appear as one of the featured performances in the first-ever 'Neighborhood Inaugural Ball,' hosted by President Barack Obama. Starting at 8 p.m. (ET), live coverage of the event will be nationally televised on the ABC special 'The Neighborhood Ball: An Inauguration Celebration,' anchored by Charles Gibson, Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos. The premiere event of inauguration evening, the ball will include the President and First Lady's first dance of the night, President Obama's initial speech of the evening, and performances and appearances by many of the nation's top recording artists and stars, including two performances from the internationally celebrated AntiGravity troupe at 9:15 p.m. and 9:55 p.m.
