Winners of the 2013 FringeNYC Overall Excellence Awards were announced by festival Producing Artistic Director Elena K. Holy during a brief ceremony at The Cutting Room in New York. As selected by an independent panel of over 40 theater professionals, the winners are as follows:

The 17th annual The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), the largest multi-arts festival in North America continues through August 25, 2013. The festival offers programming from 185 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies in 20 venues in downtown Manhattan. With attendance topping 75,000 people, FringeNYC is New York City's fifth largest annual public event (just behind NY International Auto Show, Tribeca Film Fest, NYC Marathon, and Comic Con). Shows represent 13 countries and 17 U.S. states, plus an array of genres including drama, comedy, classical theater, dance, performance art, puppetry, clowning, and children's theater. WHY YOU BEASTING? opens tonight at the Flamboyan Theater at the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center (Fringe Venue #2 - 107 Suffolk Street) Lower East Side.

True False Theatre, in association with The Present Company as part of the 2013 New York International Fringe Festival, presents SLAUGHTERHOUSE-FIVE a new play by Daria Tavana, based on Kurt Vonnegut classic novel of the same name. SLAUGHTERHOUSE-FIVE opens at Fringe Venue #5 The Celebration of Whimsy aka The C.O.W. (formerly The Living Theatre) (21 Clinton Street) in Manhattan tonight, August 10, and continues through August 20.

Haas Regen's new play PERCEVAL, a four-actor adaptation of the Arthur legend, opens tonight at the Kraine theater, running through August 25 as part of FringeNYC. PERCEVAL is presented as part ofFringeHIGH, a collection of boundary-stretching plays, chosen from among the FringeNYC roster, guaranteed to captivate and entertain NYC teens.

The Drama League, in conjunction with The Present Company, will present the American premiere of The Spider, the award-winning production from Bulgarian company Theatre B+, written and directed by Dimitar Dimotrov and Jordan Slaveykov, with music by Alexander Kalanov and Jordan Borisov, as part of the 17th Annual New York International Fringe Festival - Fringe NYC, the first Bulgarian theatrical event in the 25-year history of the festival. The acclaimed Bulgarian cast will include Penko Gospodinov and Anastassia Liutova.
