The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC) will celebrate its 20th Anniversary August 12 - 28, 2016. This year the festival presents programming by nearly 200 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies. With attendance topping 75,000 people, FringeNYC is New York City's fifth largest event (just behind New York International Auto Show, Tribeca Film Festival, New York City Marathon, and New York Comic Con).

Off-Center, a signature line of programming of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA), presents the off-site immersive experience, SWEET & LUCKY, a commission by Brooklyn-based Third Rail Projects. The show is scheduled to begin previews tonight, May 17.

The International Film Festival North Hollywood released its list of final nominations for major award categories today.

Directed by A. Nora Long, the production also features music director Allyssa Jones and choreographer Yo-El Cassell. MR. BURNS runs through May 7, 2016, with the official opening slated for April 10.

Each year the festival presents programming by nearly 200 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies. General FringeNYC applications for 2016 are currently being accepted for participants in all genres (theatre, dance, puppetry, performance art, multi-media, etc.).

 Winners of the 2014 FringeNYC Overall Excellence Awards were announced by festival Producing Artistic Director Elena K. Holy during a brief ceremony at Drom in New York. As selected by an independent panel of over 30 theater professionals, the winners are as follows:

Rhett Rossi's sharp-edged solo play "This Is the How," a coming of age story set in the dark corners of Long Island during the heavy metal '80s of Rossi's youth, begins an exclusive four-week engagement on Monday October 5 at The Playroom Theater, 151 West 46th Street.  Directed and co-developed by Kevin Kittle, the Off-Broadway premiere of "This Is the How" opens on Monday October 12 at 7pm and plays through Saturday October 31.  For tickets call Ovation Tix at 866/811-4111 or visit www.theplayroomtheater.com

The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC) announces the productions selected for its newest program: FringeFAVE. On August 30th, one final performance slot in each of the 17 theaters hosting the festival has been given to the best-selling show in that venue.
