An evening with Tony Award-Winner McKechnie performs SAME PLACE, ANOTHER TIME
Star of screen, stage, concert and recording star Andrea Marcovicci will be making a special concert appearance at Chicago's premier venue for music, Davenport's, 1383 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago with MOONLIGHT COCKTAIL. The six special performances will take place tonight, July 31 through Monday, August 5 at 8pm, and Sunday august 4 at 7pm.
The 2013 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) presents Gary Goldfarb: Master Escapist a world premiere musical comedy with book & lyrics by Omri Schein, and music by James Olmstead. ANDREA MARCOVCCI is turning sixty-five this November! The tour kicks into high gear when it arrives on the east coast where Andrea debuts at both Joe's Pub (at the Public Theatre) in New York City and The Landmark Theatre in Pt. Washington, NY (Andrea's only scheduled Long Island appearance.) Plus - a return, after eight years, to the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck, NY. (More details below.)What better way to celebrate her birthday, than to honor the singers and songwriters of the 1940's and '50's that inspired the current Queen of Cabaret. The new show, 'Moonlight Cocktail,' began in Los Angeles at Tom Rolla's Gardenia in preparation for Andrea's debut at Michael Feinstein's latest club - Feinstein's at the Nikko in San Francisco. "Moonlight Cocktail" is on its way to Davenport's in Chicago this summer.

It may be more than 50 years since the 72-year-old Donna McKechnie made her Broadway debut in 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,' but she seemed as nervous as an ingenue--in a good way--on the opening night of her new cabaret show Same Place-Another Time. Entering in a sparkly black blouse over a black skirt, and boogieing to the classic disco strains of "Do the Hustle," McKechnie and Musical Director/Pianist John McDaniel (leading a five-piece band) turned her opening number into a mashup with Rodgers and Hart's "Where or When" and a few bars of "Native New Yorker" thrown in just to keep up the funky disco flavor.
