Other Side Productions and Thom Fogarty Present THE ARTIFACTS, 4/18-29

Thom Fogarty will direct the World Premiere of THE ARTIFACTS by Steven Fechter (THE WOODSMAN), which will be presented April 18th through the 29th by Other Side Productions and Thom Fogarty. This intimate 'black box' production of Steven Fechter's exciting new work has a cast of four : Lulu Fogarty*, Caitlin Rose McMahon, Amy Newhall and Armand Anthony; music by jazz artist "Blue" Gene Tyranny; and Costume, Lighting and Stage design by Thom Fogarty.

The Theatre @ Boston Court Announces PLAY/ground New Play Festival

The Theatre @ Boston Court announces PLAY/ground, the annual New Play Festival December 10-11, 2011 at Boston Court Performing Arts Center in Pasadena, CA. Literary Managers Aaron Henne and Emilie Beck, in concert with Artistic Directors Jessica Kubzansky and Michael Michetti, have selected five plays to be presented as staged readings in the Marjorie Branson Performance Space.

Rhinebeck Writers Retreat Announces Musical Theatre Writers for Inaugural Year

Kathy Evans, Founder and Executive Director of the Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced the fourteen musical theatre writers who will participate for the inaugural summer in July and August. The Rhinebeck Writers Retreat provides a one-week residency for a musical theatre writing team to create and refine their musical in Rhinebeck, New York.

Chicago Dramatists Continues Transformation

Over the past year Chicago Dramatists, 1105 W. Chicago Ave., has begun to re-brand with improvements to the exterior of the building and a more contemporary lobby design. The theatre has continued on that path of change in 2011 with fresh coursework, new staff and partnerships, and an expansion of its working space, all while staying true to its mission to nurture the next generation of outstanding playwrights.

Goodman Theatre Features WEE-PIE & MECCA TALES Readings in June

Next month, Goodman Theatre will present two free staged readings in the Owen Theatre. The Mecca Tales by Rohina Malik Rohina Malik Rohina Malik (June 13) and American Wee-Pie by Lisa Dillman Lisa Dillman Lisa Dillman (June 20) were both developed as part of the Playwrights Unit, the Goodman's season-long residency program of four local writers who meet once a month to discuss their plays in progress. Playing an essential role in the Goodman's efforts to commission and develop new works of the American theater, the Playwrights Unit also includes playwrights Seth Bockley Seth Bockley Seth Bockley and Laura Jac Laura Jac Laura Jacqmin qmin qmin, and is facilitated by Director of New Play Development Tanya Palmer.
