The Immediate Family to Present Ibsen's PEER GYNT, 12/5-20

The Immediate Family presents Henrik Ibsen's PEER GYNT, adapted by Scott Raker, from the English translation by William and Charles Archer, directed by Haas Regen. PEER GYNT features original music written and performed by Mackenzie Shivers, inspired by Edvard Grieg's score. PEER GYNT will be performed Friday, December 5th through Saturday, December 20th, at the Alchemical Theatre Laboratory (104 W 14th Street, NYC). The press opening is scheduled for Sunday, December 7th at 3 PM. Before performances begin November 9, Prospect Theater Company has announced an extension of performances for The Underclassman, an original musical that explores F. Scott Fitzgerald's coming of age as a writer on the eve of World War I, and his first romance with the elusive debutante Ginevra King. Performances are November 9 through November 30 (originally scheduled through November 23), at The Duke on 42nd Street, located at 229 W. 42nd Street, NYC. Press Opening is November 19 at 7:30pm.

Hangar Theatre to Present OTHER DESERT CITIES, 7/31-8/9

Finishing out its 40th Mainstage Season, the Hangar Theatre will be producing the regional premiere of Jon Robin Baitz's 2012 Tony Award nominee for Best Play, Other Desert Cities. Directed by Mark Shanahan, who is making his Hangar Theatre directing debut, Other Desert Cities will run from July 31, until August 9, 2014. Join the cast, crew, and Hangar staff on opening night, Friday, August 1 at 8pm at the Hangar Theatre, as they celebrate the last show of their 40th Anniversary of the Mainstage Season. Prospect Theater Company (Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director / Melissa Huber, Managing Director) presents its 2014 annual gala, New York In June, in the Harbor View Room at Battery Gardens, a beautiful and unique waterside location nestled at the southernmost corner of Battery Park. This special one-night-only event will be held on Monday, June 30 with an 8pm concert performance featuring Broadway and Prospect stars. The evening's program will include songs from Prospect's 15 years developing and producing new musical theater by emerging artists, including recent productions of Jasper in Deadland, Tamar of the River, and Unlock'd, as well as sneak peak performances from upcoming shows! Proceeds from the evening will benefit Prospect's ongoing mission to develop and produce new American musical theater works.

Prospect Theater Company will present a private developmental reading of the original musical The Underclassman on Monday, November 25th at New 42nd Street Studios (229 West 42nd Street, NYC). The Underclassman follows the early life of F. Scott Fitzgerald, from 1914 - 1917. Brilliantly talented, Fitzgerald is swept into the hierarchy of Ivy League society and the antics of the Princeton Triangle Club, in pursuit of the beautiful and elusive debutante Ginevra King - who became the model for the character of Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby.
