Nominations in 27 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 63rd Annual Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards were announced by Tony Award Winners Cynthia Nixon and Lin-Manuel Miranda from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

The Tony Administration Committee revealed the names of a quartet of honorees who are to be recognized in the four non-competitive Tony categories. Composer/lyricist Jerry Herman, Virginia's Signature Theatre, and longtime press agent Shirley Herz will be honored at the 63rd annual Tony Awards ceremony on June 7. Actress/writer Phyllis Newman will receive the newest Tony Award for her volunteer work as an advocate for women's health.

NEW DRAMATISTS, Tony Honor recipient and the nation's premiere playwright development workshop, honored the late Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Horton Foote with their 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 60th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute, on Tuesday, May 19th at the New York Marriott Marquis (1535 Broadway, between 45th and 46th Streets). Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will present the 23rd Annual Easter Bonnet Competition on Monday, April 27 (4:30 PM) and Tuesday, April 28 (2:00 PM) at the Minskoff Theatre (200 West 45th Street). The proceeds from the event will benefit BC/EFA.

The San Francisco production of WICKED will perform an additional performance on Sunday, April 26th at 7:30 PM to benefit The Actors Fund. All of the actors' salaries and a portion of ticket sales will be donated to The Actors Fund benefiting people in film, theater, television, music, opera, and dance.
