Shoreditch Town Hall today announces a series of additional events, talks and readings running alongside its double-bill of Philip Ridley plays in its basement spaces.
The New Group presents the world premiere of All the Fine Boys, a new play from writer and director Erica Schmidt, featuring Abigail Breslin, Isabelle Fuhrman, Joe Tippett and Alex Wolff. Previews begin tonight, February 14, in advance of Official Opening Night on Wednesday, March 1. A limited Off-Broadway engagement plays through March 26 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (Ford Foundation Studio Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).
Philip Ridley's widely acclaimed 1991 play has been revived by Jamie Lloyd, and is back in its native East End for a limited run in conjunction with its partner production Killer. In a change from Lloyd's usual big, brash West End style, The Pitchfork Disney is being played in the basement of Shoreditch Town Hall. It follows in the footsteps of Trainspotting as an immersive piece of theatre with cult appeal.
Multi-award nominated Interval Productions have teamed exciting up and coming writer Rebecca Walker together with indie-pop act Eliza and the Bear to bring Wretch to the Vault Festival this February.
The Bush Theatre will reopen after a year-long £4.3m redevelopment, the largest capital project in the theatre's history, with a bold new season kicked off by the European Premiere of Guards at the Taj by Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph, directed by Jamie Lloyd (from 7 April). A brand new Studio space opens with the premiere of Barney Norris play While We're Here directed by Alice Hamilton (from 26 April).

Two years ago, Philip Ridley called me up to say he was working on a companion piece to one of our previous collaborations, the explosive Dark Vanilla Jungle, which had charted the downfall of a vulnerable young woman in our increasingly violently patriarchal society. This would be the journey of a young man who had become victim and perpetrator in that same violent world - a sensitive soul with a dangerous edge, who you wanted to cuddle one minute and run away from the next. He was Donny Stixx, an entertainer with the confidence to go all the way to the top. I fell for him from the start.
Inis Nua Theatre Company opens their 2016-2017 season at the Louis Bluver Theater at The Drake (302 South Hicks Street) with Radiant Vermin by Philip Ridley, with previews starting October 19 and opening set for October 21. From England, this Philadelphia premiere mixes "be careful what you wish for" with a strong dose of unnervingly wicked humor.

Donny has committed an act that shocked everyone. Tabloids called him The Most Hated Boy Alive. But, despite this, Donny doesn't want forgiveness. All Donny wants is his own television show.
One of the finest actors of his generation, Jeremy Irvine (Steven Spielberg's War Horse, The Railway Man, Now is Good and forthcoming films Fallen, Billionaire Boys Club, and This Beautiful Fantastic) will make his West End debut in Sam Shepard's Pulitzer & Obie prize winning play, Buried Child.
