Colorado Ballet's Second Season of ATTITUDE ON SANTA FE To Feature Three New Ballets, 9/23

Colorado Ballet's second season of Attitude on Santa Fe will feature three new ballets choreographed and performed by Colorado Ballet dancers on September 23 and 24 in the Black Box Theater at the Armstrong Center for Dance, 1075 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO.  The September 23 Attitude will only include the performance and the September 24 Attitude will include a catered dinner that features a three course meal and wine prior to the performance.

The Living Earth Show to Release Sophomore Album DANCE MUSIC

The Living Earth Show — a Bay Area new music initiative comprised of electric guitarist Travis Andrews and percussionist Andy Meyerson — will release its sophomore album Dance Music October 28 on New Amsterdam Records.

Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre announces its fall season, Impelling Forces, October 14-30, 2016 at The Sanctuary Theatre in Harvard Square, Cambridge.  The Company's 2016/17 Season features four distinct programs of original ballets that continue to rejuvenate the art form for 21st century audiences, including two Mateo premieres, plus the return of The Nutcracker to the Theatre District at The Cutler Majestic and The Strand Theatre in Dorchester.

The 23rd Annual Watermill Center Summer Benefit & Auction FADA: HOUSE OF MADNESS

The Byrd Hoffman Water Mill Foundation celebrated its 23rd Annual Summer Benefit & Auction, a one-of-a-kind evening bringing together over 1,000 guests from the worlds of theater, art, performance, fashion, design, and society at The Watermill Center on Saturday, July 30. The event, entitled FADA: HOUSE OF MADNESS, featured new works by Watermill's International Summer Program participants that came from over 25 countries to create installations and performances throughout the eight and-a-half acre grounds. This year, The Watermill Center honored Madame Giancarla Berti.

Actor/performer April Matthis is the recipient of the 2016 Ruth Maleczech Award, created last year to honor the memory of the legendary and beloved downtown actress and director who passed away in 2013. The award ceremony takes place tonight, July 26, at 7pm at the Howl! Happening: An Arturo Vega Project gallery in the East Village.

Long Beach Opera Announces New President of the Board

Artistic and General Director Andreas Mitisek announced Dr. Robert Braun has been selected president of the Long Beach Opera (LBO) Board of Directors, succeeding Sue Bienkowski, long-time board president. He has been on the board for five years, previously serving on both the development committee (chair) and executive committee.

San Francisco Opera Announces Fall 2016 KDFC Radio Broadcast Schedule

San Francisco Opera's partnership with the Bay Area's Classical KDFC continues with a fall season of opera radio broadcasts beginning August 7 with the star-studded, June 16, 2016 gala concert celebrating San Francisco Opera General Director David Gockley. The Company's highly acclaimed 2016 Summer Season productions of Bizet's Carmen, Verdi's Don Carlo and Jana?ek's Jen?fa, along with a special 1982 'From the Archives' broadcast of Handel's Julius Caesar, will air each month through December 4. All performances were recorded live at the War Memorial Opera House and feature the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and San Francisco Opera Chorus.

Light Opera Works to Present MAME This August

Jerry Herman's Broadway classic MAME, with 26-piece orchestra, will be staged by Light Opera Works at Cahn Auditorium in Evanston, August 20 through 28.

Shanghai Ballet to Return to the Coliseum with ECHOES OF ETERNITY

The critically acclaimed SHANGHAI BALLET make a welcome return to the Coliseum this August for five performances of their exquisite new production, ECHOES OF ETERNITY, choreographed by Patrick de Bana and inspired by the ancient Chinese poem 'Song of Everlasting Sorrow'.
