A first look at the new revival of an Oscar Wilde classic!

The Importance of Being Earnest launches a UK tour at Theatre Royal Nottingham today, May 13, followed by stops in Cambridge, Malvern, Southampton, Newcastle and Bath before the show hits london.

As previously announced, David Suchet will star as 'Lady Bracknell' in Oscar Wilde's much loved and exhilarating masterpiece THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST. Directed by Adrian Noble, the new production will open in the West End on July 1, 2015, with previews from June 24. Suchet recently told the Daily Mail that Goeffrey Rush and Brian Bedford's portrayals of the iconic character led him to take the role, but that he wants to play the lady 'straight.'

Gina McKee (Di & Viv & Rose, King Lear, Ivanov, Our Friends In The North, Notting Hill) plays Queen Elizabeth, alongside the previously announced Martin Freeman (Clybourne Park, The Hobbit, Sherlock, Fargo) as Richard III in Jamie Lloyd's first production of his second season at Trafalgar Transformed, Richard III, running through 27 September, with press night on 8 July. Shakespeare's classic exploration of ambition, guilt and destiny opens at the Globe on 22 June 2013, the third and final play in the Season of Plenty's trio of supernatural Shakespeares. The production features Joseph Millson and Samantha Spiro as the murderous couple at the heart of the play, with Billy Boyd as Banquo and Gawn Grainger as Duncan. Celebrated cabaret artist Bette Bourne will play the Porter.
