The 2013 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) and Pirates Musical LLC present The Pirates of Finance a world premiere musical comedy written by Charles Veley with music by Sir Arthur Sullivan. Gary Slavin directs a cast of twelve including Lynn Craig*, Christopher de Angelis*, Preston Ellis*, Amber Nicole Guest*, Alex Krasser*, Janice Landry*, Heather Lundstedt, Carter Lynch*, David Macaluso*, Sydney Ransom, Deborah Jean Templin*, and Jacob Thompson*.

Producer Aaron Grant introduces his new theatrical production company's first slate of new plays in a summer developmental reading series that begins on July 1. The series, cast entirely by Daryl Eisenberg Casting, is meant to foster new works by matching directors and casts with new plays at different stages of the development process.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, two-time Academy Award winner and 2013 Tony nominee Tom Hanks may be taking Nora Ephron's Lucky Guy to London. The actor is in talks for a West End opening in 2014, and he elaborated during an interview on tonight's Tonys red carpet, saying there are still 'no definite plans to take Lucky Guy to London', but that 'the idea's in our hearts if not in our pocketbooks - yet.'

Today, May 3rd at 12 noon, Brave New World Enterprises, LLC will present a Special Pre-Broadway Workshop Table Reading of the new musical based on Aldous Huxley's novel, BRAVE NEW WORLD. The presentation, directed by SHERYL KALLER, with musical direction by JOHN McDANIEL, will take place at the Snapple Theatre Center (1627 Broadway) for invited industry audiences only.

LUCKY GUY, starring two-time Academy Award-winner and Tony Award nominee Tom Hanks, officially recouped its $3.6 million capitalization costs as of the week ending 4/28/13, eight weeks after beginning performances. The 27th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition raised a staggering $4,250,542 - eclipsing the previous high of $3,734,129 set in 2007. The grand total was announced Tuesday after six weeks of intensive fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS by 47 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies. Four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots), two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks (Lucky Guy) and Grammy Award winner Cyndi Lauper (Kinky Boots) were on hand to announce the grand total at this year's Easter Bonnet Competition, which ended in two shows featuring original presentations, songs, dances and 19 intricate, custom-made bonnets. The stars will align for the 27th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition when Tom Hanks, Cyndi Lauper, Harvey Fierstein, Andrea Martin, Nathan Lane and more than 200 of Broadway and Off-Broadway's most talented performers join together for the annual event, presented by and benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This year's Easter Bonnet Competition will be held today, April 22 and Tuesday, April 23 at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street.

Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage, Fairfield County's award-winning professional theatre company, concludes their 2012/2013 Season with Cole: An Entertainment Based on the Words and Music of Cole Porter. The musical revue runs tonight, April 19 - May 12 at MTC Studio Theatre in Westport Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, with matinees Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.
