Peter Oyloe Stars in REVERB at Redtwist Theatre, Opening Today

Reverb by Leslye Headland, will be directed by Jonathan Berry at Redtwist Theatre. The show opens today, May 18, at 3pm. This will be the Chicago premiere of Reverb, a darkly comic, brutal dissection of the deadly force of wrath in the playwright's cycle of the Seven Deadly Sins, featuring Redtwist company member and two-time, Jeff Award-winner, Peter Oyloe.

Bohemian Theatre Ensemble and The Hypocrites Top List of Jeff Nominations

The Jeff Awards Committee today announced 120 nominations in 25 categories of Non-Equity Jeff Awards for productions that opened between April 1, 2012, and March 31, 2013. The Non-Equity Awards honor excellence in Chicago theatres not under a union contract. Jeff judges attended opening nights of 146 productions offered by 65 Non-Equity producing organizations. The judges recommended 54 of those shows, making them eligible for Non-Equity Jeff Award nominations. Thirty-three theatre companies received nominations.

Steppenwolf Announces Casting for GARAGE REP 2013

Steppenwolf Theatre Company has announced the casting and creative teams for Garage Rep 2013, featuring Bailiwick Chicago's See What I Wanna See, Buzz22 Chicago's She Kills Monsters and Theatre Seven of Chicago's BlackTop Sky. These innovative storefront companies perform in rotating repertory for a ten-week run, February 15 - April 21, 2013; performances are scheduled Wednesday through Friday at 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday at 4pm and 8pm in The Steppenwolf Garage (1624 N Halsted St). JEFF Awards Non-Equity Nominations - Full List and Statistics - Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre Leads with 14 Nominations

The Jeff Awards today announced 124 nominations in 25 categories for Non-Equity Jeff Awards for productions that opened between April 1, 2011, and March 31, 2012. The Non-Equity Awards honor excellence in Chicago theatres not under a union contract. Jeff Awards judges covered opening nights of 154 productions offered by 71 Non-Equity producing organizations. The judges recommended 64 of those shows, making them eligible for Non-Equity Jeff Award nominations. Thirty-two theatre companies received nominations.

Redtwist Theatre's THE PILLOWMAN To Close 5/14

The Pillowman will be closing May 14, 2010. It previewed on November 17, 2009 and opened on November 21, 2009. It is Redtwist's longest-running show to date.

Redtwist's 'PILLOWMAN' Embodies Everything Good Theatre Should Be

While its strong language and sometimes disturbing subject matter may not be for everyone, I cannot recommend this production enough. It's raw, it's edgy, and its sentiment towards the responsibility of art makes 'The Pillowman' an enthralling watch.

THE PILLOWMAN Extends Thru April 18 at Redtwist Theatre

The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh extends again through April 18, 2010. Beginning Thursday, March 25, performances are every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm, Sundays at 3pm. (No performances on Friday, March 26 or the weekend of April 8-11)
