RACE's David Mamet To Appear On Charlie Rose Tonight

DAVID MAMET, the Pulitzer and Tony-winning playwright currently represented on Broadway with the hit play RACE, will be a guest on Charlie Rose Wednesday, July 7th at 11:00PM (EST) on PBS.

Producers Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian and Tom Wirtshafter welcomed Academy Award-winning actress Helen Hunt to the cast of David Cromer's acclaimed production of Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN, last night, July 6. Hunt will appear in OUR TOWN for four weeks only (through Sunday, August 1st) at the Barrow Street Theatre, succeeding Michael McKean, who gave his final performance on Sunday evening, July 4. Scott Foster, Mossberg, et al. Lead POWER BALLADZ; Opens 8/19

Some of the greatest rock anthems of the 70's, 80's and 90's take center stage in the new rock cabaret musical POWER BALLADZ, debuting Off-Broadway at the Midtown Theatre (163 W. 46 St.) in Manhattan, with previews starting August 5th prior to an official press opening on August 19th. Not your typical theater experience, POWER BALLADZ is a 90-minute rock tribute that gives audiences the chance to unleash their inner rock star: part comedy, part interactive game show, and a genuine joy ride through the music and legend of rock songs by powerhouse bands such as Guns 'N' Roses, Journey, Heart, Queens, Bon Jovi, Styx and more. POWER BALLADZ is created by Mike Todaro and Dan Nycklemoe with Peter Rothstein and written by Mr. Todaro and Mr. Nycklemoe.

The evening, 'Still Bill' featured lyrics and poems by Russell with special guests Lauren Molina (vocals, cello, ukelele), Chris Schelling (keys), Christian Imboden (banjo, guitar), Shannon Ford (drums) and Alice Ripley. Jason Robert Brown Battles Music Copyright Infringment

Parade, Last Five Years, Songs for a New World, and 13 composer Jason Robert Brown has taken to his website to address an ever-growing problem in the publishing world as internet tricks become more and more sophisticated: copyright infringement. Presently, there are dozens of sites that make available sheet music (including that written by Brown) for 'trade,' essentially allowing a prospective downloader to request sheet music copies of their choice for free.

Amari Cheatom, Brian D. Coats & More Set For LCT3's ON THE LEVEE, Opens 6/28

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that Amari Cheatom, Brian D. Coats, Chuck Cooper, Maria Couch, Harriett D. Foy, Dion Graham, April Matthis, Jacob Ming-Trent, Seth Numrich, Stephen Plunkett, Michael Siberry and Shelley Thomas will be featured in its upcoming LCT3 world premiere production of ON THE LEVEE, a play with music, conceived and directed by Lear deBessonet, with play by Marcus Gardley, and music and lyrics by Todd Almond.

2nd Annual Broadway Meows Benefit Concert to Feature Music of Bisen-Hersh, 7/19

The Second Annual Broadway Meows: a Benefit Concert for the Humane Society of New York will be presented at Don't Tell Mama, one night only, Monday, July 19th at 7pm. The evening will feature the songs of composer/ lyricist Seth Bisen-Hersh. Bisen-Hersh will be joined on stage by a stellar cast including Brian Childers (Helen Hayes Award Winner, Danny & Sylvia), Sean Patrick Doyle (La Cage aux Folles), Bryan Fenkart (Memphis), Russell Fischer (Jersey Boys), Kimberly Faye Greenberg (Danny & Sylvia), Autumn Hurlburt (Legally Blonde), Lara Janine (Rock of Ages), Brianne Moore (The Visit), Brooke Sunny Moriber (The Wild Party), Olivia Oguma (Mamma Mia), Mary Orzano, Kate Rockwell (Hair), Brian Charles Rooney (The Threepenny Opera), Brandon Ruckdashel (Co-Ed Confidential), Kevin Vortmann (A Little Night Music), Correy West (South Pacific) and Kristen Beth Williams (Promises, Promises). The concert will be produced by Dennis Fowler, directed by Laura Pestronk, choreographed by Erin Porvaznika and stage managed by Livia Hill.
