Chris Pena, Rodney Whitaker Quartet, Carmela y Mas and More Set for The Nash This Month

January brings a full roster of live jazz to downtown Phoenix. Highlights include a free concert, Hot Dogs and Jazz, to kick off our new Family Series, several Latin Jazz performances to heat up the new year and the incredible Rodney Whitaker Quartet. Sunday Jam Sessions continue each Sunday evening, as well as mainstream and contemporary jazz concerts each weekend.

Towner, Muthspiel and Grigoryan, Three Renowned Guitarists, Reunite on Tour in Australia

Ralph Towner, Wolfgang Muthspiel and Slava Grigoryan are acclaimed as three of the world's finest guitarists in their own fields. Although they share a common bond of being classically trained and inspired, each guitarist has a distinctive approach to composition and performance, and are all intent on expanding the guitar oeuvre having led vividly different forays into world, jazz, and modern classical music. Coming together for a one-off trio tour in Australia in 2005, they felt an instant personal and musical connection and agreed to make this an ongoing project alongside their solo careers and other collaborations.

Bramwell Tovey Leads LA Phil in THE PLANETS Tonight

Conductor Bramwell Tovey returns to the Hollywood Bowl to lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Women of Pacific Chorale in Gustav Holst's The Planets tonight, September 9, at 8 pm. The performance will be accompanied by astonishing high-definition images from NASA and JPL rovers and satellites, as well as computer-generated graphics of the Mars landing.

BIG DRUM BONANZA Live Webcasts to Feature Thomas Lang, Chris Coleman, and More, Begins Today

Six of the world's top drummers will be featured on DrumChannel.com's live, daily webcasts of Thomas Lang's 'Big Drum Bonanza' drum camp from July 2-6 at 5:30 PM (Pacific Time). The free, hour-long shows- which can be accessed from computers and mobile devices virtually anywhere on the planet- will include appearances by Thomas Lang (stOrk), Chris Coleman (Prince), Matt Garstka (Animals As Leaders), Aquiles Priester (Hangar), Derek Roddy (Hate Eternal) and Gergo Borlai (Tribal Tech) as well as special guest John Tempesta (The Cult).

In-demand Jazz trombone soloist Harry Watters and the 28-piece Salt River Brass will be joined on stage by Pat Sheridan and Sam Pilafian on tuba, Mike Kocour on piano, Dan Bukvich on percussion, when they perform songs from the Great American Songbook in Mesa Arts Center's Ikeda Theater today, June 14, at 7:30 p.m. June 9 through 13, Mesa Arts Center's Ikeda Theater will become a recording and video studio, as Arizona-based multimedia recording company Tresona films practice sessions and the resulting concert for theatrical release. Tierney Sutton Pays Homage to Joni Mitchell at The Cabaret at the Columbia Club Tonight

In her most daring and revealing project to date, five-time Grammy nominee, Tierney Sutton, pays homage to the revered pop singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell in After Blue: The Joni Mitchell Project. Sutton puts her unique stamp on Joni Mitchell tunes going back to 'Both Sides Now' and 'Big Yellow Taxi' to more recent numbers like 'The Dry Cleaner from Des Moines,' 'Be Cool,' and 'Don't Go to Strangers.' Collaborating with Tierney this evening is Mark Summer on cello and Serge Merlaud on guitar.

Mary Chapin Carpenter Performs with the New York Philharmonic, Now thru 3/1

LA Phil Announces 2014-15 Season at Walt Disney Concert Hall

Music Director Gustavo Dudamel and President and CEO Deborah Borda today announced the 2014/15 season of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. This new season, the orchestra's 96th, is devoted to moving music forward by presenting an ever-evolving vision through a series of programs that demonstrate the artistry of the Los Angeles Philharmonic as a leading orchestra of the 21st century, under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel.
