Producers Carmen Pavlovic (Global Creatures) and Roy Furman have revealed new poster art for Broadway's King Kong by internationally renowned artists Laurent Durieux, Francesco Francavilla and Olly Moss.
Producers Carmen Pavlovic (Global Creatures) and Roy Furman have announced first principal casting for the new musical King Kong. Christiani Pitts, currently starring in A Bronx Tale on Broadway, will star as Ann Darrow, and Eric William Morris, who played Sky in Mamma Mia!, will play Carl Denham.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, King Kong, will arrive on Broadway in 2018, but before it does, the musical will get a developmental lab this fall. According to an Equity casting notice, a lab will take place this November in preparation for its upcoming Broadway run.

And to add to the excitement, Tony nominee Joshua Bergasse has also joined the production as choreographer.
The Mike Walsh Fellowships enable young theatre practitioners to travel overseas to further their knowledge and experience in their chosen fields of theatre before returning to Australia to pursue their careers. Shaeffer, this version features a book and lyrics by Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winner Marsha Norman and a score by Marius De Vries and Tony Award-winner Jason Robert Brown.

Due to the 'huge scale of the production' and to allow the creative team necessary time to implement changes, the producers decided 'to not rush in before the end of the year.' Now according to the New York Times, the show is eyeing John Rando to direct the Broadway version.
Additionally, Marsha Norman was recently brought on board as the musical's new book writer. A development timeline has not yet been announced.
