The Traverse Theatre is excited to announce the full programme for Traverse 1 during Traverse Festival 2018. A collection of five vibrant, compelling and deeply human works, taking in a teenage girl's coming-of-age tale from schoolgirl to indie rock star (What Girls Are Made Of); a childhood remembered through taste and smell (Nigel Slater's 'Toast'); a fearless exploration of race relations (Underground Railroad Game); the state and future of the NHS (Check Up: Our NHS at 70); and a haunting vision of ruthless state control (Meek).

Stephen Rea Returns to the Public Theater In CYPRUS AVENUE

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) will present the Abbey Theatre and the Royal Court Theatre's acclaimed 2016 production of CYPRUS AVENUE, a new play written by David Ireland and directed by Royal Court Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone, featuring Stephen Rea, who last performed at The Public in 2008 in Sam Shepard's Kicking a Dead Horse. Following encore engagements at Dublin's Peacock Stage at the Abbey Theatre (April 30-May 19) and the MAC in Belfast (May 23-26), CYPRUS AVENUE will begin previews for a limited eight-week run on Saturday, June 2 and run through Sunday, July 29 in The Public's LuEsther Hall, with an official press opening on Monday, June 25.

Samuel French Relaunches UK Bookshop at The Royal Court Theatre

Samuel French UK announced today that it will re-open a theatre bookshop in London in partnership with the Royal Court Theatre in Sloane Square. The Bookshop will be located in the theatre's Balcony Bar and will officially open on March 5, 2018.

Performers will include: Grammy and Tony Award nominee Sara Bareilles; Tony Award winners Jayne Houdyshell and James Monroe Iglehart; Tony Award nominees Ra l Esparza, Robert Fairchild, and Keala Settle; plus Hamilton star and reigning Dancing With the Stars champion Jordan Fisher, The Band's Visit star Katrina Lenk, Once on This Island star Alex Newell, and the voice of Moana, Auli'I Cravalho.
